When I work in No Limits, my favourite type is the B&M Invert. This is also reflected in my top-10 steel, from which half is a B&M invert.

Anyways, after my vacation to Italy (trip report will follow soon) I have appreciated Katun even more as one of the best roller coasters in the world.

And since I was out of inspiration as well, I thought it would be a nice challenge to recreate the thing.

At this point the layout is as good as done, though some areas need tweaking.

Are you going to use custom supports to make the ride more believable? That'd be my suggestion-totally custom support it so that there are no inconsistencies in their appearance. Right now it looks good, but as you said, needs tweaking.

Made some progress today. And yes, it will be custom supported, the prefab supports were just placed to give a better sense of height and layout and stuff. If I have enough time I might even make 3ds and train textures.

Right now I'm still working on the corkscrews, I can't seem to nail the shape down, so any comments on that is appreciated.

^Not really. It looks smooth and similar to other B&M inverts, but look at Katun's zero-G:

It has super-flat onsets and leads. Then a roll. It's odd, and should really be put in this recreation if he wants it to be really good and detailed.

Like I said, the ride looks smooth but not too accurate.

So, here an onride I took compared to Robb Alvey's POV.

I'm sorry the clip isn't detailed or top quality, but you can see it's pretty well synced.

They're pretty damned close, so that's freakin' awesome. Is it me, or does the cobra roll in the actual Katun have more of a snap to it?

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thats what I was thinking!

Gah, that barrel roll still needs a lot of work! FLATTEN IT, don't have it all curvy. There are a few errors, but assuming handbuilding, it's pretty good. Not crazy for it, but still decently solid.

This might be the last update in a while. School is starting tomorrow, so I will have less time to work on this.

So, at this point the track and 3d-objects are done. I still need to touch up some supports and add flanges.

After that, it's adding some trees and a cartexture and it'll be finished.

Looks fantastic.

The only thing I don't like is that your terrain has too many repeats.

Final update on the cartexture and the more important scenery object. The ride will be uploaded with a week or two.
