PhishyBrewer Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Made a little trip to Pyramid's Sacramento Alehouse yesteday. Had a pitcher of Curve Bal before it's out of season. Enjoy the photos! Took home a little bit of beer. I had the ribs. The best I ever had. They have awesome food. Karen had the Halibut and Chips. Gavin took part in arts and crafts while his mommy and daddy took park in enjoying a tasty brew. My second most favorite beer: Curve Ball Karen is a big beer drinker to. Must be all that college school'n. Mmm... the first pour. Some of the selections they have on tap. Back of the House Pyramid is really known for their award winning Hefeweizen. Shockwave Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Looks like some good real ale being served there! If you can make it over to England next year you'll have to sample some of our fine real ales on offer over here. 8)
CoasterFanatic Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 That has to be the prettiest keg I have ever seen.
PhishyBrewer Posted August 29, 2005 Author Posted August 29, 2005 That has to be the prettiest keg I have ever seen. That's California for ya.
Chrissie Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Wow! Thats a BIG portion of Halibut and Chips. Looks gorgeous!
Hattuchili Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Great photo TR, Wally. The food looks delicious, that make me really hungry. However, the Hefeweizen kicks all. I like Hefeweizen so much... --Sören
PhishyBrewer Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 ^Most breweries in California brew Hefeweizens. Actually I should say the entire west coast, not just California. Go to the midwest, like a state like Ohio, and they won't even know what a Hefeweizen is.
CoasterFanatic Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 But we do! Actually, if you haven't had a chance to try some of the Penn Brewery beers, I highly recommend them.
PhishyBrewer Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 ^Nothing good has ever come out of Pennsylvania The last time I tried a beer from Penn, I ended up spitting it out and throwing away the entire 6-pack. When I'm back in Ohio next month, I'll see if I can find this Hefe and try it.
OzCatter Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 I've toured Beer Heaven. Anheisuer Busch, maybe I'll post the pics one day........ would you like to see it Wally? -Cal
PhishyBrewer Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 ^Anheuser-Busch pics? I have to see that crap everyday when I go to work. But I'm sure other folks wouldn't mind seeing them. Please share.
65skylark Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 PhishyBrewer, you need to make the 10 hr drive north to Portland if you like good microbrews. Portland has by far the most microbreweries of any city in America.

roeterich Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 WTF??? Is that a normal sized american portion? If it is I do not longer wonder why so many americans are a little oversized^^ And you do drink Kölsch in america? That's one of the most awfull beers ever (espacially if you come from Mönchengladbach^^) Sebastian"Alt-Beer-Drinker"Rötten
SLUSHIE Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Most resturants have fairly sized portions. Others have extreme sized portions, it just depends on where you go.

Karen and I do end up taking a lot of our food home or give it to homeless folks. Sacramento does have a problem with the homeless to. I usually give our extra food to a lady I pass a lot downtown. As for Kolsch... Curve Ball is a Kolsh style of beer but it's not Kolsch the brand. That's stuff is nasty.
