jedimaster1227
So, in celebration of the Third of July, I ventured back to the Magic Kingdom for the first time in weeks. Once again, there are a good deal of changes that have been made to the progress of New Fantasyland and Storybook Circus. In addition to this, the special date celebration of the Third of July called for a special fireworks show called Celebrate America! at the Magic Kingdom, which I happily photographed... So let's take a look! After much distress around the world, the Tomorrowland spherical map has returned! The big top tent for the Dumbo queue has been wholly framed. The walls for Storybook Circus facing the Tomorrowland Speedway have been given minor billboards to better mask the stark contrast of construction behind the wall. Rockwork on the Little Mermaid has grown to new heights! Even moreso, the color and paint is quickly being added to the facade. Early vertical construction has started on the New Fantasyland train station and the attached Casey Jr. Roundhouse. People flew in from around the globe to celebrate the Third of July! Would you care to wait 60 minutes for Pooh? Also noted, Piglet is missing from his spot in the tree. The new popcorn cart has finally gotten its marquee... Arguably the best themed cart ever! The realm of Beauty and the Beast has grown significantly as well. Rockwork framing is nearly complete on this side of the facade. Looking at this a few weeks ago, there was no frame. On the other side of the Be Our Guest restaurant, there is still much to be done. Not too much has changed at Maurice's Cottage, the entrance to Enchanted Tales with Belle. Interestingly enough, the first signs of construction of the Fantasyland retaining walls have become visible. I'm guessing this will be one of the end spires of the wall. Eventually, this wall will cut across the current plot occupied by Dumbo. More rock work taking shape at Be Our Guest... Aside from the crowds, everything looks normal, right? Construction plans call for the clocktower to be removed soon. Um... This is weird. The restrooms next to Peter Pan will close to make way for an extended (possibly interactive) queue for the very popular Fantasyland attraction. New restrooms as well as a widened path to Liberty Square will take the place of the former Skyway building. They had the inflatable markers up around the park in preparation for that other holiday for the following day. The Frontierland Shootin' Arcade is currently closed for refurbishment. The walls around the Enchanted Tiki Room have moved to the front entrance of the queue. Anyone notice the face in the picture? Due to the holiday weekend, show times were significantly extended for the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor. Tomorrowland Terrace and Tortuga Tavern were both open for the holiday weekend as well. As a recent graduate of Quantity Food Prep, I'm ready to get cookin'! Fourth of July Duffy and Mickey available for sale now. I've never seen these before... My word! As the time for fireworks approached, the crowds began to descend upon Mainstreet USA and the Hub. Despite the crowds grouping around the Castle Forecourt, there was a clear line of seating directly in front, most likely because people wanted to be able to turn around to see the parade. Since we weren't staying for the parade, we took our seats at the front. My friend convinced me to wear the "Happily Ever After" button with her while at the park... This would backfire on us later in the evening. It's almost time! As the sun went down, the castle lighting became more prominent... In the interest of not filling the lines with fluff, I'm going to present the following fireworks photos without caption... I now present Celebrate America! jedimaster1227
(Continued) Time for the after party! Can I get a Way Ohhh? Order to help guest flow, they had guests leaving the park exit via Tomorrowland and re-enter next to the Mickey fastpass machines. Despite the crowds, the princess and Mickey meets still had very minimal lines. We only waited about 10 minutes... It looks like Minnie is here to stay... Another look at the "icons." I really do love this meet & greet! Thanks for reading!

MrMorgan
Some of those fireworks pics are really really great! I mean, this whole thread is really great, but some of those fireworks pics are exceptional. And can you please help me? The woman in sunglasses at the middle of this pic is freaking me out. Was she really there, or did you photoslop her in there for some reason. Does anyone else think there is something weird and 2D about her??? Straaaange.
