Beverly Hills Cop III -which theme park?

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm new here, hello! I was curious about a scene in Beverly Hills Cop III, near the end at Wonder World, when the cops are interacting with the bad guys of Wonder World outside by "Home Town Square" I believe, there were lights in the trees blinking, like Christmas lights but they were just clear light bulbs....Which theme park is that? I knew it was filmed at various parks, and I live in Chicago so I can't just go look!

 

If anyone would know, you guys would! Looking forward to your reply...

It was filmed at Great America, Knott's Berry Farm, and Universal Studios in California. I forget where it's at in the film, but I'm pretty sure there is a scene where he runs across the midway at Great America into the old Dinosaur ride at Knott's. It's amazing to watch him teleport between the parks!

I thought the whole movie was filmed at great america. I always was curious about the dinosaur ride. never knew that knotts ever had a dino dark ride. It looked like a great dark ride.

And the "Alien attack" is the Earthquake at Universal Studios, Robb I also loved that when the Triple Wheel cage came crashing down it landed somewhere that was not under the ride another interesting act of teleportation

Yeah, all those scenes were actually filmed in the basement of the Alamo.

My God this movie was beyond awful!

 

Eddie Murphy should feel absolute shame for making this debacle! Anyhow, I did like seeing the scenes at 'Marriotts' Great America, because I grew up in Marin County and this was My Theme Park.

 

Though I haven't been back in many years, I would like a repeat ride on the "Demon" my first looping coaster!

He's actually gone on record as pretty much saying that this movie was a disaster. Unfortunately, he wants to make it up by doing part 4.

From what I read the local fairgrounds/carnie ride operator brought in some portable kiddie rides to CGA. You all know GA doesn't have a Dragon Wagon, micro sized scrambler or kiddy pirate ship. Refer to the scene where Foley gets chased through the now gone Ameri go round and pulls out his gun.

Yeah there were a whole bunch of carnie rides placed all over the games area it was quite strange to see them there

^Yes, that was shot at CGA. The coaster in the background during that scene is Vortex.

CGA/MGA/PGA, whatever you want to call it now seems to be in a bit of decline. Thankfully they are still running the Demon which was my brothers first and my first inverted coaster. I haven't been on demon in about 5 years or so I think but it was a fun ride.

Oh yes it has been in a long slow agonizing decline and the Demon the last time I rode it was not aging very well, corkscrews were still fun but the loops were enough to knock the wind out of a person

I remember when the movie came out and I thought it was so cool that I had been to all of those parks! I need to Netflix that horrible movie again.
