- Maybe a way to insert the table you see when looking at a ride's page into a forum post, so that the combination the forum and the exchange are more seamless, as was done with Coastertube? This seems very code-intensive to me, but would effectively solve the issue of a commenting system and having the exchange be an addition, not a replacement, for the games forum.

Not sure exactly what you mean here. Can you make a mock-up of it?

 

Hopefully you can tell what I'm getting at here, I just made this in a minute at a friend's house. What I'd had in mind was something akin to the [ coastertube] tags, where somebody could put the URL of their file on the exchange into a post so that the track could be downloaded and rated from the thread containing it, not just linked to. It might be even better if it appeared above all the posts of a thread like a poll would be, so that its visible to all the posts of a thread. Does this clarify what I meant?

Almost all of the NL tracks I downloaded wouldn't open because of error messages. One of them was "Could not load track".

I tried to open another one in the track packager and it had another error message. Only one worked. Is anyone else having this problem?

Can you tell us what tracks you downloaded so we can check them?

 

Everyone, please understand that if you're going to report problems, we need DETAILS to fix them.

 

Saying "I downloaded something and I got an error" doesn't help us.

 

If you told us:

 

I downloaded the following track:

And I got the error "Cannot open to do to widget expiration"

 

then we can have someone else test the same track to see if'it's a problem with the track file, or specific to your machine.

 

Again, please...we need as many people to test as possible...but we need DETAILS!!!

Okay, a ride I attempted to upload isn't in my files or anywhere else, but the screenshot page from above has a picture of it. It's the NL red and navy blue coaster with neon green trains going through a loop...how did that happen?

^^mcjaco, yes it is. I tried to upload it before you said NO!!! and it didn't work. Vekoma Fan Boy and I discussed it and fussed and cussed it and changed it ever so slightly for a period of a few weeks. I uploaded it here a while back with the same username.

^^Il Pitone's my coaster! Glad you found interest! What was the error? Could you not open it or did the Track Package just not open?

 

^Anyway Robb, Il Pitone was a first-time upload, so it's different. But the others aren't. Hopefully we can get those working!

Quite a few bugs were fixed and some minor features added including:

 

1. The search function should now work when you're viewing a track page.

 

2. Each username is now clickable which brings up a list of everything they have uploaded to the exchange.

 

3. A "search" button has been added to make it more clear how to activate your search.

 

4. "Uploaded by..." has been added to each track page, with a clickable username link to see the rest of their uploads.

 

We really do need more people to test downloading files to tell us if you are having problems getting some of them to work.

That would be mine. I'm guessing I was on the upload screen for too long, and I was automatically logged out without knowing about it. Then I uploaded the file.

So I then went and tried a few from the Forum and they worked fine. I just tried to download "Coaster A" by Jose Eber just as a random test and had the same results, download from forum worked and downloasd from Game Exchange did not. I am trying this on Windows 7 64 bit.

I'm getting the same with Il Pitone.

 

Not having the issues with any of the others. I'm noticing errors with nlpack files. Can any of you confirm?

Can you please tell us which tracks you downloaded so we can test them?

 

I don't understand why some people seem that they can't get any of the tracks from the exchange to work, some people can get half of them, and some can get all of them.

 

Without telling us what tracks you downloaded, it makes it impossible for us to track down these bugs.

 

So please, if you are helping to report bugs, that's great! But please give us DETAILS!

I'm still getting the Runtime 9 error. I'm getting it or Runtime 53 with any nlpack files I'm downloading. I'm new to NL so, if anyone can lend me a hand on this error message, please do!

You may be missing the file that the error is saying that you're missing. Do you have the TrackPackager patch installed?

Il Pitone is still not working. All others I've tried are. Can you guys check Il Pitone?
