BC Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Just realised that this wooden coaster is an Intamin. Has anyone been on both this and Balder at Liseberg, Sweden? How do they compare? Is Coaster Express (Formerly Wild Wild West) an Intamin woodie of the SUPER SMOOTH kind?
viking86 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Its not built by Intamin. Its designed by Werner Stengel and built by RCCA. Intamin only did the trains. The transitions are very smooth, but it has regular wooden track so its vibrating like crazy. Its not comfortable at all, and the boring layout doesnt make it better. Its nothing like Balder at all. Yngve "worst coaster name ever" Oestbye
coaster1 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 INTAMIN did the original trains, they now sport Premier trains .. and from what I've heard its the SOB of Germany.
DKSoCal Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 ^ Yeah, I have to agree with him. The coaster has one of the most (if not the most) boring layouts ever conceived. Havn't been on Balder though, but comparing to most woodies Iv'e been on, it's below average.
viking86 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 INTAMIN did the original trains, they now sport Premier trains .. and from what I've heard its the SOB of Germany. Thats Wild Wild West in Germany. This discussion is about Wild Wild West in WBMW Madrid
coaster1 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Ahh yes .. both RCCA woodies that more or less suck
viking86 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Ive ridden 2 RCCA woodies and they were both horrible. WWW and Magnus Colossus, They both have Intamin trains, but Magnus Colossus has older 4-seat cars. Boring layout, and Magnus Colossus was shaking alot.
nemesis-storm Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I've been on both WWW coasters, at WBMW Madrid & Germany. The Spanish one is better IMHO The German version - a copy of Cyclone is very boring & very rough The Spanish version is just boring
coasterguy618 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 The layout of the WWW at Warner Bros. Movie world looks so much fun. I have got to get on that thing.
BC Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 Dissapointing news. I thought I had just discoverd another SMOOTH Intamin in Europe (Too good to be true I supppose) Let's hope we'll see many more of these wonders of the world in the future (apart from the one being built at SFGAdv)
robbeal Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Am I the only one who didn't find Bandit @ Movie Park Germany that bad? Okay, so it throws you around quite a bit, but its got good speed, and it's a fun ride in my opinion. Probably the best coaster in the park i reckon. I've heard very mixed reports of the one at WBMWM though. Some people say it was very average, some say it was quite good. I guess the only way is to go and find out. If it's RCCA though, I can see it having the same lateral problems that Movie Park DE's had.
