crispy Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Ok, this will be the chat thread for the current, and all future RCT competitions Ask questions, post pics and share idea's AND HAVE FUN Chris
zburns999 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I have a question. I want to enter the contest, but I don't know how to get RCT3 screen shots. I know it has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. Thanks.
phazan Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 the f 10 button. to get them go under my documents, pictures (or rct3), then pictures while in rct3 folder and they will be right there.
kenshinmac Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Make sure to compress them to jpg format at a maximum size of 800x600 though...
kenshinmac Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 How do I do that?If you are on windows the easiest method is to use Paint and just use the Scale/Skew command to change the size by entering the same numbers in the horizontal and vertical resize. Then just simply select "SaveAs" and pick JPEG or JPG in the file type.
phazan Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 you can also change the end of the name to .jpeg
crispy Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Just wondering who is having problems with the new challenge, and what version of the game your using thanks Chris
imdrunk Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Hello everyone. I have a question. While building my inverted coaster, sometimes it appears the track supports are sometimes outside of the 10x20 limit even though the actual track is within the set limit. I guess this is cool, right?
crispy Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 Yeah, I noticed that as well, as long as the track itself is inside the 10x20 space your fine
FlyingScooter Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 I've got a good one to enter, but for some reason mky supports have vannished. I've even worked w/the support icon, and zippo. Nothing. I'll submit it for the competition tonight after work. Has anyone else had their supports go missing?
Hattuchili Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Damn, I hadn´t the time to built a track. However, I will make one for the contest... --Sören
crispy Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 Don't worry rieghning champ, you still got time
kenshinmac Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 We gotta stagger these contests more... It takes forever for a new contest to come up if you submit your entry on the first day... How about opening another one just before the end of the submissions for the current one? I dunno maybe I am just fast but the whole "build inside a small area" challenge isn't really that flexible... You just need to figure out how to start and then build until you get a ride that goes back to the start... You can tweak things a bit but not much really. I think maybe having a longer term (think like 1 month or so) themed small space coaster (maybe like 30x20 or something similar) with a pre-built park running simulataneously would be fun too. I just need more stuff to work on... I know they would have to be separate for RCT2 & 3 but that should be ok... I don't know how Soaked vs non-Soaked would work either because Soaked files don't work in non-Soaked games... But I want to build tunnels... Well thats my Dollar and change... Yeah it got a bit over 2 cents... What can I say... BTW I'm willing to help with any extra management of the contests that needs to happen with more of them.
imdrunk Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 I am quickly packing and evacuating due to a direct hit from Hurricane Katrina. I'll have to make my next coaster for the next contest. Good luck everyone.
crispy Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 We gotta stagger these contests more... It takes forever for a new contest to come up if you submit your entry on the first day... How about opening another one just before the end of the submissions for the current one? ok, actually, we are going to start a park challenge here very soon, that should cure your boredom a bit Stay Safe I'mdrunk
imdrunk Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Okay, so it (Katrina) is up to 196mph sustained with gusts to almost 200mph. It is currently 6:43CDT and I'm leaving at 9:00am when we'll enter miles and miles of stopped cars on the interstate. Sound fun? This hurricane strength combined with the path it is taking is unprecedented. New Orleans is in big big trouble. The levee system there can handle only about a 15ft storm surge. The surge with this storm is currently 25feet+. I'm bringing a laptop with me, so if our hotel has broadband, I'll continue to make mini-updates on a new thread on the Random forum so I won't be posting stuff like this in this coaster forum. For you weather buffs, the place I work at has weather stations located on the coastal areas of Louisiana. Check it - *go to www.lumcon.edu *In quick links drop box, select weather *select any of the weather stations you see on the map and click it *the interesting things to look for are increases in wind speed, changes in wind direction, and an increase in water height *Also, on the station map page, under the map there is a link to two web cams. The picture of the camps is pointed toward the east. The picture of the estuary is pointed west. Keep in mind that these stations will more than likely be destroyed at some point and will be rendered useless.
crispy Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 ^^^^, well I hope you guys stay safe, and you might want to start a diffrent thread, as most people won't look here for this, and to me, is more intresting than an RCT competition
imdrunk Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I started a new thread of my evacuation at http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18567 I'll update it if our hotel has broadband. I should be there later today. This will be my last post on this topic regarding the hurricane.
Hattuchili Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I have posted my entry for this RCT competition. I think it is much harder this time. I really needed a few hours for this track! However, it was fun, again. --Sören
crispy Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 OK, all the Inverted Coaster Challenge is OVER, great job everyone, no time for the new challenge
FishyFish Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Another question about the Giga Coaster challenge... Do we have to use the template parks that have been supplied in the other thread? I'm presuming 'yes' so that it's a level playing field? Thanks, Fishy
crispy Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 NO WAY, you can use your own, especiallu in RCT2 there is only a certain number of themeing items available, and if you make you own, you can choose which ones you want as long as the coaster fits in the 20x30 squared space, and the entrance and exit are inside that space, and there is no tunnels, your good to go
