samisthabomb
When we arrived at Nascar Speedpark, we were told that a few of the rides, including the coaster, Speedway Draft, would be close today due to weather, even though there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The park has lots of potential, but needs to focus more on family fun than making money. It cost 32 bucks for unlimited rides! Anyways, here are the pictures. Enjoy! The park's entrance. The sign was gone, for some reason. It looks VERY nice from the outside! Once you enter, the first thing you see is a huge arcade and gift shop. One of the race cars in the arcade/gift shop. Another one of the cars. The indoor rock wall seemed like fun, but I passed it up. Yay! Speedway Draft! Closed. After checking Roller Coaster Data Base, I sadly discovered that Speedway Draft has been SBNO all year. One last look at the helix. The most impressive ride at the park was the double decker carousel. It, the Tilt-A-Whirl, and the Scrambler were the only rides open, even though the cashiers told us that only a few were closed. The Tilt-A-Whirl had one of the most insane and longest programs I have ever seen. I passed up on the carousel and the Scrambler. Instead of the thrill ride section, I have renamed it "Hot Pavement World Full of Puddles". This was the main go-kart track. The tracks were fun, but most of the drivers thought they were on bumper cars, and the staff didn't care enough to intervene. I would like to add that there were some open kiddie rides and a mini-golf course on the other side of the park, but I ran out of time and I couldn't take pictures of them Well, that's it for Nascar Speedpark. Now on to the BONUS PICS!!! The next day we went to Gatlinburg and rode the skylift. It was alot of fun and had great views! The view. Thanks for reading! PeoplemoverMatt
I'm guessing the park would have more appeal if the Nascar race cars and logos weren't about 5-8 years obsolete. Also missing the entrance sign and having the one operating coaster not operating for the entire year basically nails the coffin shut. What a shame given that the park is located near a track that draws 150,000+ twice a year for major Nascar race weekends.
CHILLERLC1
It's like it's still 2007. I came to the place and the scenario was the same.
stricklandCC
In all honestly though, it doesn't seem like you missed much, that coaster looks horrible! Short, un-inventive and a lame lay-out to boot! I rather have some of those "elusive" kiddie credits than worry about riding that POS. Although it seems if you add a dog and a fart to the theming it becomes much better!
Electerik
I lived in Pigeon Forge for four years, and I never got to ride that coaster. That's how much it's closed. A quick check of RCDB just now lists it as SBNO.
larrygator
I had to stop there on 3 different occasions before I found Speedway Draft operating.
Midgetman82
The place looks nice, too bad the coaster was closed for that long, it would've made anybody's visit a little more worth it it seems. Ober Gatlinburg seems to still have it's beautiful view, I always liked that place.
