odene497
Nahhh, maybe we'll see Sarah Silverman make an appearance... Â Great pictures as always! I haven't even gotten all of my own to facebook yet...I love reliving this trip, it was one of the best!

rollin_n_coastin
^Thanks Joey! Yah, it's fun going through this stuff long after. Helps me forget it's winter. Â So, off to an interestIng and friendly place. No, not Santa's Lodge, but Holiday World! Â I was really looking forward to this park mainly for the water park and Wildebeest. It did not disappoint! They also had some cool coasters and theming. Holiday World is just an all around great place to be. Â Raven was fantastic. Legend was fun. Voyage, well, it was one of the two roughest coasters of the trip for me, in addition to Hades, but wow, what a layout and what a ride! I really wish I could have ridden it when it was new. I'm sure the Timberliners will help out in the roughness department though. Â Aside from the really hot and humid weather, it was a fantastic day! Robb & Elissa won the Holiauction, featuring 48 spots for the experience of a lifetime! A personalized tour with a park director! I was lucky enough to be included in one of the groups and our Director, representing marketing, social networking and PR, was none other than Paula (Raven Maven)! The funds raised from the auction went to assist flood victims in Nashville. This was one of the coolest ways to get a truly VIP and educational experience at a fantastic park. They do what they do exceptionally well and I personally hope to get back there one day! Â So who's ready to get up close and personal with some cool Holiday World attractions? Â Here we go! It is really strange seeing Christmas stuff in the summer. This motel is umm, interesting to say the least. For a place featuring Santa, it could use a bit more jolliness The Lodge in all its glory. Ah, now that's better You can't help but feel welcome. Let's head in to check out Raven. A great ride! Walking to... Thanksgiving area. The home of... The Voyage! So happy to finally try this out. Sorry Travis, Voyage already beat you to fathering Jenn's babies. Just around the corner was this bow-legged ride of awesomeness. Getting ready for more testing in the off-season. Waiting in line for Legend. What is that dude looking at? Edited December 19, 2011 by rollin_n_coastin
rollin_n_coastin
Holiday World Continued... Â Lunch and VIP Experience! Â Pilgrim's Plunge up first. Paula welcomes us to the park. Mrs. Koch takes some questions and gets ready to take her group around the park for the afternoon. Holidog says thanks! Let's head over to... Pilgrim's Plunge! I really loved this ride, if mainly for the petrifying lift and that moment of truth before you drop down. To get close to the ride, we had to walk through the control booth. Intamin computer screen hotness! A little wet..sure. just a little misty.. Going up? Intamin legs... Fine. Don't wait around Splash down.. Well, something's gotta control the pilgrim? :
rollin_n_coastin
The final part of our tour led us to a backstage look at the still currently largest waterside in the world, Wildebeest. Â Thanks for a great day Paula and everyone at Holiday World! Our one front of line pass really helped. This was the busiest line of the day. Going up. Going down and.. Just like magic, you're heading up again. Definitely a great time! Any conveyor belt fanatics out there? We'll end with look at the two biggies at Holiday World. rollin_n_coastin
Moving further into corn country, we hit up a park that's been in the news quite a bit lately.  The first Midwest trip really got me interested in this park. I think the difference this time around is that it really comes alive in the evening and we were going to be experiencing it during the day this time around. I guess that 'magic' or charm that you could feel from trip reports didn't seem to be there after finally visiting. Maybe the anticipation was too high? Maybe it would be better to arrive when it was busier at night?  Either way, the location and park really is something special and it was a really fun day. I think this was the day I started to really come down with a serious cold os it could have been my off mood in general lol  Would I visit again? Yes. I'd go back late afternoon to close though. I do still consider Indiana Beach to be a must visit. Corn! This was were the huge anticipation built up. It was so good to finally get here! The coolest of picture spots! A bit of Hoosier County and Corn Ballin' action A look back at the entrance Hoosier Hurricane. Just getting around this place is a ton of fun. This was a highlight for me. Just the strangest coaster ever. Really happy that I got to ride since it was having some technical issues all day. This was a another favourite of the trip! Short but intense! Lunch? rollin_n_coastin
Moving on from Hoosier fun to the big hawg... This ride is a great fit for this park I think. Some more happy riders Another random old style coaster-looks like what we're getting at the CNE? The rides over the water make this park. This was actually not that bad! Just awesome, I rode this quite a few times. So glad that it's moving back here. Yes, great place for flat lovers! This. This is how you queue for the Yo Yo, yo. After all that fun, humidity and feeling nasty with a cold, there was only one place to turn to! The bar! If you're into people watching, this place rated a 10. Another awesome day! Now, off to our next hotel.
rollin_n_coastin
That night at the hotel, some of us ventured off to check out the roadside sea food shack. Not since first year college did so many get crabs... Not sure if Ice Bat is into the whole sea food thing. When in doubt, drink a margarita! Not all of us got crabs.. Definitely a great change of pace from park dinners.
-Edge of Beast-
Very nice trip reports! Indiana Beach and Holiday World both seem like must-see parks that I'll need to visit sometime. Thanks for sharing these!
