DrEmmettBrown88
Yesterday I drove west out to Holiday World to try out the world's longest water coaster, Wildebeest on it's opening day! First off this is my first Photo TR so please let me know what you think. Also I already learned one lesson. Next time bring an actual camera and not just use my cell phone. Because whenever I zoomed in I forgot that the pics become smaller and I lose quality. Anyways... on with the show! CAUTION: You will get wet on this ride! WILDEBEEST! or at least that's what the sign says anyway. Let's check it out. Entrance shot! Here we go. Take the Tunnels! The Spiral of Death... and or darkness. You choose. End of the line folks. The ride spits you out onto the unloading bay here. Alternate shot of the end of the ride. After you exit the unloading platform the boats then move on this conveyor belt over to the loading platform. Here I am with Will Koch After congratulating him on a great new ride and wishing him another successful season, Will introduced me to Richard Hunter, the president of ProSlide Inc. The manufacturers of wildebeest. They were on sight fine tuning the ride during it's first day of operation for the general public. Mr. Hunter let me know that with the LIM technology that's being used, you would be propelled up each hill much faster than you would on an older water coaster. He seemed a little busy so I didn't want to bother him for a photo. So overall my thoughts on the ride... The second hill is the best, I rode 3 times in the back and each time I flew out of my seat just holding on to the handles to keep me in the boat. But on every hill this thing has extreme airtime! This is the best water coaster I've been on and am sure it will be a big hit for this wonderful park. Check it out ASAP! But i'm not done yet, here's the rest of my day at the park! Hello Voyage! I see you from inside the water park. Scaffolding everywhere! But whats that I see? A 90 degree turn on Voyage! PTC Trains still in use... but not for to much longer. Though the single PTC train operation did have it's set back since a lot of students were at the park. This was the longest line I saw all day. But wait, what's this? Is it closing early to continue testing the timberliner train? We'll have to wait and see. Turkey themed Tilt-A-Whirl Pilgrims Plunge After drying off from Wildebeest I got wet all over again from Pilgrims Plunge. Time for lunch... and luckily enough time for the sun to finally come out! I'm going to pause here but will post the last of my photo's asap. Please let me know what you think so far since this is my first Photo TR and please don't hold back. Criticism can only help one improve. Thanks again for reading!

angryemobeaver
Great photos! I was going to go to HW today but don't have the money for another ticket or season pass. Sadly I'll probably only go to Holiday World two more times this year. Theres a chance I'll go to HW this weekend, if so than I will have been to a theme park every week in May and April. Pirouettes907
This is definitely a great start--for cell phone pictures, these are actually pretty good. It's also awesome that you got to meet Will Koch and Richard Hunter. I'm also glad to hear that the airtime on Wildebeest really is what it appeared to be when those first videos of it testing came out. You have just made me that much more excited for Holiwood Nights! Looking forward to the rest of this report!
mudvayneimn
Thanks for the photos. I'm not normally a waterpark person but it looks like I'll definately have to give Wildebeest a go. I'm planning my first trip around the Voyage so I haven't made it up there yet. Haven't ridden the Voyage since my marathon when it first opened, can't wait to ride it with the new trains. DBru
Great PTR so far! I'm glad to hear that Wildebeest is a hit. How long were lines for it on its opening day?
DrEmmettBrown88
Great Photo TR so far! I'm glad to hear that Wildebeest is a hit. How long were lines for it on its opening day? At the most one queue deep and when it was running like normal the line was flying. Since the ProSlide guys were there they were having to stop it now and then to work out some kinks and such.
