Mondial recently completed its first Mistral ride at its premises in Holland.

The 40-metre swing ride is similar to the company’s Giant Revolution (Frisbee), but features inward-facing seating and a collapsible structure suitable for travelling. The 20-seater ride has been sold to French fairground family Jacquier. A park version is also available.

Mondial also has two Giant Wheels due for delivery in 2010. The first will be a 55-metre portable construction confirmed for an appearance in Paris.

It will be interesting to see where these new models pop up... Here's hoping we get one of the permanent ones in the States sometime soon!

Do we have ANY Mondial rides here in the States?

(I believe the only ones I've been on are at Canada's Wonderland...)

This thing looks exactly like KMG's Freakout. Is there no creativity left in the flat ride market? Well, one good thing can be said from this. This means that there will be more of these awesome rides in the world! Here's to hoping a few midway groups pick up some of these for some fairs in the US.

There's at least one Top Scan traveling on the east coast, a Swinger that travels on the west coast, and I believe another fair bought a Heartbreaker.

It's actually a knock off of the larger version of the freak out: XXL. But this one offers more seats.

I would agree there isn't much creativity left in the flat ride market. But I understand why: none of these companies are THAT big as to have huge R&D budgets, since its such a small market for traveling flat rides to begin with. I would guess all the showmen have their favorite manufacturers, so it's hard for a company like Mondial to say no if someone comes up to them and says "I want a better version of this ride..."
