coasterdude5 Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Sorry, but I've gotta do my practice one. None of them came close! [WoodenRC]Valkyrie.trk Here it is!
crispy Posted August 5, 2005 Author Posted August 5, 2005 Again, that is a great coaster, our first entry, thanks coasterdude5
eyeamthu1 Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 It's actually pretty difficult to get really good ratings... here's my attempt; 'Komodo':[/img] Komodo.TD6 Komodo Track File Komodo
robbalvey Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Ok, I tried to make a coaster, but this is just way too difficult for my RCT skill level. So I'm attaching my entry, although it doesn't qualify, but if someone wants to take it and run with it, GO FOR IT! After spending about 3 hours on this, I just couldn't get around the 15 x 15 thing. I'm so used to building coasters how they would appear in a park, not in a box. I hope this track can find a good home somewhere! --Robb My failed attempt at a track. =( Donkey Express.TD6 The Donkey Express
BiCoastal Kid Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 So far I like eyeamthu1's the best! It's all twisty and goodness.
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 It's actually pretty difficult to get really good ratings... here's my attempt; 'Komodo':[/img] REALLY good coaster eyeamthu1! Really nice banked dipped sections! It's great to see RCT2 and 3 represented so far
coasterdude5 Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 It's great to see RCT2 and 3 represented so far Agreed, I wonder if there will be any RCT1 entries?
SLUSHIE Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 My coaster! [WoodenRC]SLUSHIE-WoodCoasterChallenge.trk
crispy Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005  WOW!, these are some GREAT coaster designs Robb, yours is great looking, here's a hint, Trim brakes, make it a six flags ride, slow seems to be the key
robbalvey Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Ok, I give up. I made one last attempt and I guess I'm just not as good at doing this as you guys are. --Robb "Frustrated" Alvey Donkeys Revenge.TD6
crispy Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005 Don't give up Robb, Trim Brakes, and Water Splashes are you friend that one looks good, very close
robbalvey Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 ^ Never used trim brakes or the water splash, so I'm kind of un-familiar on how they work. Like I said, you guys are WAYYYYY more into this than it turns out I am! Not that that's a bad thing, and all along I thought I was crazy into RCT! --Robb
crispy Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005 I never use them on my regular coasters either, oh i've used the water splash a few times Brakes are very easy to use, and when it comes to something like this, are unfortunatly neccessary, but you can use a water splash as well, as it slows down the coaster keep it slow and controled, you are realy close, transfer you last RCT2 coaster into RCT3 ans see what you get, the ratings will be diffrent
SLUSHIE Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 If you look at mine, you can see that I have 2 MCBRs. On a tall coaster it's pretty nessesary. As you get near the end of the ride, the coaster usualy ends up going pretty fast and when using smaller hills, there it was to much negative g's.
BiCoastal Kid Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 I kinda like Robb's second attempt. I can see where it could have been pumped up a bit, but overall the look of it is pretty cool.
crispy Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005 Robbs second attempt is very very close, i think if he moves it to RCT3, the ratings might be a bit diffrent
Hicko Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Here's my entry. I havn't played this game for about 6 months so this was a good excuse to get back into it 8) I wanted a very traditional style coaster hence the reason that there's no additional lift hills or brakes. It just keeps on going till the station BTW I'm hopeless at coaster names Lumberjack.dat The file The first drop! Overview with stats Overview.
coasterdude5 Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 BTW I'm hopeless at coaster names Join the club! BTW, Great coaster.

I think everyone finds it hard to name coasters especially without theming!!
kenshinmac Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Well I thought I would share all 3 of the coasters I have built that have been inspired by and 2 that actually fit the contest rules. Keep in mind I have soaked which screws with the single coaster rating... If you go with multiple coasters close to each other you get a great rating but meh whatever... Moved to the chat page...
SLUSHIE Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 ^You should have posted these in the other other topic if they arnt final.
kenshinmac Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 ^You should have posted these in the other other topic if they arnt final. Just BTW no these aren't final entries or anything I am kinda refining what I want in the coaster so I am just looking to share. (Mainly because I am a dumbass and posted here before I read all the stuff in the chat topic...) From above... Yeah I realize that... I'll probably edit it...
