DenDen Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 http://64.22.203.66/metafiles/clipmonb.wvx (Needs windows media) This was all over my local news today, suprised nobody else posted this. 31 year old man with Special Needs freaks out on top of the wheel and falls off. Amazingly, escapes serious injury, and the carnies really stepped up to the plate on this one.
calcajun Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 All he got was scrambled eggs!?!? The woman should sue the home for not getting permission before taking him out to a fair. Besides, She said herself she was surprised they did cause he can't handle heat. Once at knotts there was a special needs group. From what i was seeing I was very concerned for the groups safetey. Interesting the carnie talked to had so many missing teeth. Do they not have medical/dental plans?
jonathan h Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Lucky man. from what I have heard about carnies they all seem to be get your money, dont care abut saftey but after seeing that video and the speed they all rushed over to help this has changed my mind slighty. Are all carnies that bad?
crispy Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 WOw!, well at least they were able to get up to him, and rescue him
calcajun Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I am sure there are lots of great people that work at fairs. Of course the guy with missing teeth is interviewed and it helps perpetuate the stereotype.
pvcoasterguy Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I live there, where it happened. (Well, probably about two miles away from that city.) It was a little scary, but a little more than an hour after the incident, this Ferris Wheel was re-certified for operation. There was no problem, at all, with the wheel.
