bobobobone Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 This is a serious question. Well, I'm going to Universal Studios Orlando tomorrow and I'm hopefuly planning on riding HRRR. I'm aware it has a vertical lift, and have you had trouble with cellphones and wallets falling out of your pockets on rides like this? I'm not attempting to sounds like a complete nub here, just was wondering. ADMIN EDIT: I made your subject title more descriptive. I don't think that Rockit is any worse than other coasters when it comes to loose items. I think if you put your cell phone in a secure pocket, you'll be OK. Chuck
SharkTums Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I would make sure you have your stuff in a secure pocket (button or zipper) or leave it in a l o ck e r (trying to avoid the word filter!) or with a non-rider. There are some messed up elements on the ride and your stuff WILL fall out.
monsterfan99 Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Use the Lock.ers as they are right by both the entrance and exit. They are free for the amount of time the que is plus extra time (hour to 2 hours depending on line.)
ebl Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 This question is a bit off-topic of securing loose items on HRRR, but I've wondered whether the ride is boarded inside Universal Studios or IoA? Or is it somewhere in CityWalk? It's been a few years since I was there and have had a hard time picturing it. But, yes, as the others have said, if there's any doubt about your stuff, be sure to use one of Universal's complimentary, time-restricted storage compartments or store the items in a secure pocket in your clothing. Moose Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Zipped pockets are the way to go on most coasters (with buttoned and velcro closures a close second and third). After losing my wallet on a coaster in Spain I make sure stuff is always in a secured pocket, vertical lift or not.
AllenA07 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I agree with others here, I fully endorse having a zippered pocket for rides to keep things from flying out. I generally just give in when I get to the park and get myself a loc.ker if I know I'm going to be doing a full day of riding. Edit: Interesting word to get picked on by the word filter.
ebl Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 ^ That's why I try to come up with a description that defines the park provided secure storage compartment. Everyone knows what I mean without actually saying it. Another way to keep things secure is to travel light and leave as much unnecessary stuff in your car. Ask yourself if you really need everything you're bringing. Remember, too, that some items may raise an eyebrow at the metal detectors (if the park uses them). Eric
