Flyingcoasterfreak Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Guys, Lakeside is running the Cyclone this weekend... If you want to ride it make the trip this weekend for it. Good luck and stay safe out there!
themeparkman25 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 *Lakeside is running the cyclone the rest of the season* An article found in the Denver Post can be found here.
Flyingcoasterfreak Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Mike, You could come out next weekend or the following one if you have nothing planned......
christianscoasters Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I just passed this coaster today. I didn't see it running, but I was on the interstate, and we were only near it for a few seconds which probably explains why. Cyclone really isn't fun anyways.

Remember that it runs 1 train and dispatchs once every 5 mins or so on Avg.......
ebl Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I've never had a chance to ride it, let alone visit Denver. But I have heard that Cyclone is rather rough. Is that the case? Eric
Flyingcoasterfreak Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 I've never had a chance to ride it, let alone visit Denver. But I have heard that Cyclone is rather rough. Is that the case? Eric It was built in 1940.... it's wooden so of couse it's rough... I have riden the cyclone 59 times without getting off one day back in 2005 when I was working the Cyclone.
haux Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I rode Cyclone in 2006, and I didn't find it rough. It's got some odd transitions and banking, but the padding is so comfortable, you don't get jarred around. It's an awesome classic coaster.
themeparkman25 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Ya, it is a pretty awesome coaster. I agree it does have some pretty awkward banking (and why they make the heavier person sit on the inside) but it still really fun. Having just rode my first GCI's this summer, the first drop and turn on this felt very GCI-esque in the sense the twisting first drop and pull right after the drop. Its awesome! Anyways, I went to the park today just to get a ride on it and the park was packed! But of course it is when a run on her only costs 60 cents. Very fun!
