So heres the deal, I'm headed out with my family on a 7 day mini Roller Coaster (August 10th-16th) trip to Indiana Beach, Kings Island and Cedar Point, plus maybe the Wisconsin Dells.

Our schedule looks like this:

Monday 8/10 we are staying in Monticello at the Monticello Inn.

Tuesday 8/11 we are waking up and heading to Indiana Beach, and spending the day there, that night we are staying with some relatives in Indianapolis.

Wednesday 8/12 we are heading to Kings Island to spend the day and check out Diamondback. Then planning on staying in Mason, OH that evening.

Thursday 8/13 we plan on slowly making our way to Cedar Point where we are staying at Breakers Express. We are getting the twilight plus one day hotel package, so we will be trying to get as many rides as we can on Thursday.

Friday 8/14 we have the early admission to the park and we plan on spending the day there, then driving all the way to the Wisconsin Dells to stay for the night.

Saturday 8/15 we are spending the day in the Dells, probably going to Mt. Olympus and maybe the place with the SCAD tower. We are staying the night in the Dells again.

Sunday 8/16 is when we will be heading back to The Great North Star State.

We have been to the Dells many times, and know what to do their, but if anyone has anything to know about the other three places it would be much appreciated.

Things I would love to know:

-How busy each place will be

-The best way to walk around so as to get all the best coasters

-Good places to eat-

-Best ways between parks

-Places to avoid

-Things to not miss

-And any other little thing you can all think of.

Thank You All So Very Much!

Well my home park is Cedar Point, so hopefully this will help:

Crowds: According to your plans, you are attending on a Friday, which means very large crowds, especially because some of the locals will be making sure to get last visits in before school starts. Thursday night shouldn't be super crowded.

Riding Plan: I would recommend that you hit up either TTD, Maverick, or MF first thing. TTD will probably have the longest line all day, Maverick's will be ok, and MF will probably be about an hour. With your early entrance I would make sure to hit these before the park opens to the public.

Food: I think the best place to eat at Cedar Point is the Midway Market Buffet right next to the Raptor. I'm pretty sure it is like twelve dollars for adults and that price can't be beat anywhere else in the park. A lot of people don't know about this place and it shouldn't be to crowded.

Directions: Seeing as how I'm only fourteen, I usually don't worry too much about directions. I would just MapQuest it.

Places to Avoid: It really depends on what you want to ride. When I go to the park I usually skip on the rides like Disaster Transport, Iron Dragon, and Wildcat, but I'm sure you will need to get all of the credits so try to hit those around around noon-ish to late afternoon to get all of that out of the way.

Can't Miss: Obviously you shouldn't miss the main coasters like TTD, Maverick, MF, etc. Other than the coasters Cedar Point doesn't offer much except for Power Tower, MaxAir, and Skyhawk, and of those I would recommend Skyhawk over the other two, but that might just be me.

I hope I was helpful and you have a great time on your trip!

Haven't been to Indiana Beach, but I went to Cedar Point and Kings Island for the first time in June.

I would think all the parks would be pretty crowded around this time, but that is just a guess. Obviously July would be the busiest month in the summer, but in August people could be getting their amusement parks in right before school starts, or they've already gone to their amusement parks and aren't going again. I really have no idea, but I do know that when I went to both parks in June it wasn't as crowded as I've seen in PTR's from later in the summer.

At Cedar Point, on Thursday I would hit up the rides that you want to ride at night since you won't have another night there. Millennium Force and Maverick are a must, and if you have more time I would try Magnum and TTD.

At Kings Island, if you are going at opening, make sure you do not go to Diamondback first. It can wait. I would suggest going to either Invertigo or Firehawk first because both get very long and miserable lines for in my opinion the worst coasters I've been on. Diamondback's line moves very fast and usually isn't too bad because of that.

It's a shame you won't have a night at Kings Island, because that's really the only way to experience the Beast, and also make sure you sit towards the front on Magnum. It gives a great ride in the front, but the back gets a little extreme and rough. I actually think the back is good because of the most insane airtime evah, but the front is more enjoyable and will hopefully make you a Magnum XL-200 fanboy, and not a hater.

Thank you, but I have been to Kings's Island twice and have already taken many nightime Beast Rides, but thank you though.

Thank you to both of you for the advice.

CP: Toft's Ice Cream in Sandusky is more important than Cedar Point (but there's also a Toft's location inside the park if you disagree with me).

IB: Pay the extra $3.00 a person for Frankenstein's Castle.

KI: Um...I really enjoyed Scooby-Doo & The Haunted Castle.

I just got back from the Dells. Here are my thoughts.

You can do Mt. Olympus in about three hours (generous) if you are only interested in the rides and coasters. As the day goes on, it gets busier. Go first thing in the day if you can.

HellCat/Avalanche at Timber Falls is worth the $6 to ride it.

Knucklehead's has a kiddie coaster credit. It costs $3 and is actually fun.

GoGator is at Noah's Ark.

Go check out the Kalahari Indoor Theme Park. No coaster credits, but a lot of fun. It has an indoor ropes course that was fun.
