Ccron10
I'm keeping the project mostly a secret for now because I want to have some fun releasing the details of it. Here's what I can say about the coaster right now: -This coaster might be displayed at a different place than where Sandstorm was. -It will be taller. -More realistic. I will post some clues often as well as photos of the prototype. More soon... Here are two photos that are "classified" and a third that some enthusiest took. Team Thriller
I always love watching your projects grow. I'll be following this one. Â --James
DBru
What happened to the S&S Freefly? I was loving that project...
PaulMartz37
^ Yeah! It was looking super cool! I've never followed your projects but I think I will for once. This looks pretty interesting.
Ccron10
What happened to the S&S Freefly? I was loving that project... The area where I was building the coaster wasn't really tall enough or big enough for a good layout. I started on another coaster that would circle my room, but I stopped at my bed because there wasn't enough room.
Ccron10
I had to redo all that i have done so far on the coaster, but the good news is that I have caught up and farther along. I am now at the point where you are probably figuring out what I plan to build and so far is looking realistic. I might be getting a new K'nex set (like I need another one ) so I will have plenty of pieces for the actual model which will be twice this size. I just need to wait for the phone call and then go pick it up. Â The first drop. Â This is the top view of the turnaround. It gradually drops so it doesn't loose much speed. Â I have had to seperate the coaster in pieces so that it could fit into my room. Â Â Â Â Comment.
Vffreak07
Wooden coaster? Nice. I'd recommend (if you're taking recommendations) that you should lengthen the pull out/in. Looks a tad tight.

Ok. By the way, I'm making the radius bigger on the turn since it doesn't seem like it will go under the lift the way I want it to.

Ccron10
I've done at little thinking about the whole project and because it's my Senior year and possibly my last oppertunity to build something like this, I've decided to cancel the coaster. Don't worry! I haven't really given up, but instead, make something a little bigger... 12 feet big enough? lol  It still needs a little bit of work though. I need to strengthen the base, add laterals on the tower, and straighten the lift a little.  Getting a little artsy.  I plan on adding the pull-out and then add a Stengel Dive possibly 8 or 9 feet. I need to add that last support and extend it down to the base (it won't be supporting the track, just the lift).  More soon.
ntweisen
I used to love building with knexs. I would love to buy a bunch of sets and go crazy. Maybe one day...
odene497
I like your style of supports. My room's been a disaster so it's been a while since I've been able to build a good coaster. I just bought 2 of the newer style sets with the 2 rail pre-made track, and then ordered a ton more of the track online. I've been wanting to make a nice Eurofighter.
