coolcalicoaster Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Don't know how many Stern fans there are in here, but during Robin Quivers' news she started a discussion about roller coasters. Howard claims he hates and is afraid of them. He goes on to say how unsafe they are, which reinforces the false ideas people have concerning coasters. Robin went on to say they she used to dream of going around the world to ride every coaster there in existence. It was cool to hear someone like Robin admit her nerdy fascination of coasters like many of us have! I know she frequents SFGADV and I believe she previously mentioned going to CP. MF being named top ride again was her second story in the news that started this discussion. Anyone else here it this morning? "Stern Rules, Bababooey!"
Tbcoasterfan Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Didn't hear about it on the show but I did see in the Sandusky Register that it was ranked #1 again in the National Amusement Park Historical Association's favorite coaster poll. It also went on to say that Magnum was ranked third in the poll and that at Coastermaina Rob Toomer (he designed Magnum) from Arrow Dynamics will be a keynote speaker.

It seems to me that they are just doing field trips to the same parks each year(of course none of them are at the westcoast) and vote for the same rides again(and again) I thought MF was a fun, ok ride but that's about it. Not here to start a new useless MF/CP vs. whatever park/ride topic, just really curious who these voting people are and even more amazing that these polls make it into the mainstream media

Every year Robin goes into the same little rant about how much she loves roller coasters. Howard always follows by saying he wont get on one! Some of you may have seen Robin at SFGADV, she and several other stern show employees frequents the park often. It would be neat to see some pics of her there.
