Carnage Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Don't tell them you are going to Hotel Breakers. They will ask to see your confirmation code. No they don't. Or at least they've never asked me for that info.
DBru Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 ^Oh, well I guess it just depends on who is at the booths. I've stayed at Breakers twice, and both times we drove around the park, they've asked to see our hotel confirmation. Maybe they were just trying to keep me out?
Tbcoasterfan Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never tell them that I'm parking in the back, I just do it. I always park in the Gemini lot. I know he asked this at the beginning of the thread but I have a suggestion for a fun activity...... Go on the Goodtime Cruise. It leaves out of the main pier in Sandusky by the Chesapeak Lofts and it is a great time. It takes you to Kellys Island which is a great place to bar hop..... if that's your sort of thing. And the boat has a DJ and top level is basically a dance floor. If that's not you're idea of a good time there's the Cedar Downs bowling alley at the corner of Cleveland Road and Cedar Point Road, they have bowling and laser tag. On 250 (Milan Road) there's the mini-golf and Go-Carts just south of Strub Road. I can think of more stuff but I'm ranting. If you have any other questions just ask. Tom
HPCrazy Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Ooooh mini golf! Sound's like my type of thing. The cruise doesn't sound like it would do me or any of us justice but the golf would! Is there a site for the place I can check out? I also think the Battery Park idea that someone suggested earlier in this thread is another good one. Thanks for all the great ideas and pointers guys! And if it's true that anyone can park in the back parking lot for access to the park, it seems that would make for a nice way to get in and out of the park and possibly avoiding the gridlocks later on in the day (besides seeing most of the park on your way in and out).
Carnage Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 ^ Well Soak City and Challenge Park are separate from Cedar Point. So they have to provide parking without having to go through Cedar Point. Though if you do ever park in the main lot, I find the trick is to park on the side farther away from the marina. On the the opposite site of the main roadway at least. Although in the morning they direct you to a spot, you'd probably end up there anyways. But when you go out, don't get into the main line, instead follow the fence line. There's a 2nd exit which no one seems to use. From there you can either turn left and take the long way back to the mainland, or turn right and wait for the parking attendant to stop traffic to let you through. Regardless, going this way tends to be much quicker then waiting in the main line of traffic going out.

jamesdillaman Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 The best advice for Kings Island is to actually don't hit Diamondback first. Diamondback eats through lines like crazy, and you can always go in the single riders line if it's a big problem. The rides you want to hit (in order of worst capacity to best, assuming you want all the credits, and taking into account usual line lengths in my experience) are: Firehawk Invertigo Drop Tower Delerium Runaway Reptar The Crypt (If you catch it open, get on it!) Flight of Fear Backlot Stunt Coaster Diamondback Fairly Odd Coaster Flight Deck Beast (Ride it at night) Vortex (Ride it in the back) Son of Beast (if you must.... OUCH!) Racer Little Bills Giggle Coaster (gotta steal a kid to get this one...) Other musts if you have time are Avatar Airbender, Scooby Doo's shooting dark ride, and, in August, White Water Canyon. The Wild Thornberry's Log Flume is also well themed, but small and a capacity nightmare, especially during the hot summer months. Hope that helps. Remember: You should hit up firehawk as soon as possible, and then Invertigo. These two lines get really long really quick, due to horrible capacity. Trust me! Diamondback can wait. it's better after it warms up, anyway. -James Dillaman

I've also heard over at KICentral and KIExtreme about the singles line for Diamondback. I've done this with Fahrenheit last year and waited only five minutes for the third row and plan on doing it again this year if the line is a nightmare again. Between here and Coaster-Net, you guys have really given me alot of good pointers and I appreciate all the help! Thanks so much!
tedten Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 If you have any pain when visiting KI avoid SOB, otherwise you should ride it because it is the tallest, fastest wood in the country and provides a very intense ride. I've ridden it with a sore back and with a healthy back and the difference was huge! Two questions: Is there more than one parking lot on the back end of the point? Which way around the point does the road go? (The beach side or the MF side?) I've been to CP 3 times but never utilized the the back lot(s).
slither37 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 The road to the back of the park is to the left, the MF side.
Carnage Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Two questions: Is there more than one parking lot on the back end of the point? Technically yes. There's one main parking lot back there by Gemini. But then there's another parking lot for Hotel Breakers. Not sure if there's parking lots for Sandcastle and Lighthouse Point though.

Yes Sandcastle suites has a parking lot that you can park in, although I don't know why you'd want to cause it's a heck of a walk from the back entrance. However if you park back there, there's the restaurant Breakwater Cafe back there. And there's also a nice pathway back there where you can walk along the beach and Magnum. Also there's the Soak City Lot.....
DBru Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I believe the HB lot is the closest to the Magnum Entrance.
tedten Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Ah I think I see where it is now. I never knew about that. We'll be there for two days. One day we'll have early admittance from hotel breakers, the other day we technically would but not all my friends will have CF Platinum passes so we probably wont enter early that day. How do they distinguish the early admittance from the regular admittance guests that enter from the back? Do you get early entrance passes or something at hotels?
Tbcoasterfan Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 It's been many years since we did this (back when I used to live in Michigan) but I believe you show one of the entrance people your room key and they let you in. I'm sure when you book they'll let you know what you need to do or ask when you check in.
Carnage Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 How do they distinguish the early admittance from the regular admittance guests that enter from the back? Do you get early entrance passes or something at hotels? They'll give you a resort identification card that you use to get in for early entry. It's valid for each day or your stay, including the day you check out. It should be good for 4 people per room.
HPCrazy Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Great to know about the rear lot. I would think not as many people park back there, even on non-busy days. I guess it would be worth it, especially to ride some coasters.

If you're getting there early this won't be an issue for you though.
