jjune4991 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I was looking around on seaworld.com and i noticed something when watching their kraken video... http://www.seaworld.com/assetrepo/media/video/Orlando/Rides/KRAKEN.MPG no more than 5 seconds in do i see the camelback roll from kumba!!! has anyone else seen anything like this from another coaster???
Jds03 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Not surprising. Sea World and BGA are both owned by Anhisher Busch, and it's a common trade practice to "borrow" clips of other coasters when you're short on media. (Six Flags is the leading world champ at it) The GP rarely notice, it's just nerds like us who find it.
jjune4991 Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 actually, i was going to mention that, but i forgot to when i started this topic. so six flags has many videos like that?
astroworldfan1 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 ^ Only one that I know of. http://www.sixflags.com/fiestaTexas/rides/SupermanKryptonCoaster.aspx Enjoy your ride on Superman: Krypton Coaster Ride of Steel! -Tatum
Goliath513 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Back in the days when V2 was still new at SFDK, I used to see their ads on TV featuring Geauga Lake's Steel Venom. When Zonga was new, they used Astroworld's Texas Tornado (though that was more acceptable because that *is* the same ride) for the promotional ads. They used SFMM's Viper in the SFDK park ads too.
jjune4991 Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 i gotta say...epic fail for those at fiesta texas!!!
STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I could be mistaking, but I think there are Pepsi machines at either Cedar Point or Kings Island that say Cedar Point or Kings Island on them and there is a coaster or two pictured that is obviously not from the park the machine is at.
Rollerman87 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Going in to full fledge mix up. I want to Geauga Lake during its last operating season, and one of their shirts said Geauga Lake, but clearly had a silouhette of the famous Intamin hyper coaster to the north.
andyuk200523 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Back when M&D's in Scotland premiered Tornado They had some adverts running which featured heavily edited photos of Dragon Kahn which depicted "A Tornado is coming" I have just sat for the last 40 minutes trying to dig up this image, but to no avail, if anyone has better luck than me, feel free!! Andrew
Carnage Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 All of the major chains do it. Paramount, Cedar Fair, Six Flags, I've seen TV commercials many times which use footage from the other parks in the chain.
