Guest Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 So this will be my first complete season not working for SF in a long time, which means I might have to pay for stuff when going to SF parks now. I have a free 2008 season pass processed in August, that will work at SFMM until next August correct? Also now after seeing SFGAm's 2008 season parking costs more than the season pass ($70) this made me think, are there any places outside SFMM that are a reasonable walking distance? Theres no way im paying $15-$25 to park if I dont have to. Same goes for Knotts, any shopping malls across the street or anything? Thanks, I appreciate any tips Brad
Wes Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Season passes only work for the calendar year so you'd have to buy a new one for 2009, unless when you bought it they specifically said it would work in 2009.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Red Lobster. You could park at Santa Clarita Metrolink Station or any of the shopping centers along MM park way and take a bus to and from the park.
ebl Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I know it may be out of your budget, but for me, the Xtreme Pass is so worth it. Yeah, it's $125 vs. $60, but it pays for itself after like two visits with the free parking and food discounts. Personally, I get a kick out of how many people will park down at Wendy's or along there and walk all that way---UPHILL, yet---just to save a few bucks. If you visit the park more than twice a year, go for Xtreme. Eric
Top Thrill Dragster Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 ^ The Xtreme Pass lost a lot of its value when they got rid of the Flash passes and did not lower the price. Walking up that hill isnt that bad.

Wes Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 That's why it's called a season pass instead of an annual pass.
ebl Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 If I'm correct, Six Flags is the only major chain that offers season passes rather than annual passes. Eric
Guest Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 That's why it's called a season pass instead of an annual pass. I figured that all SF parks are seasonal except SFMM, and since the other parks in the area are all 365 day passes [pending blackout dates] Six Flags just kept the name season pass since its like that at all other parks but had AP type rules. Guess thats what I get for not doing my homework though
Guest Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 One more question, I have the option to buy a regular day ticket for $27. Does anybody know how much it is to upgrade to a SP in the park?
niiicolaaah Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Why don't you call the park and ask all your questions? You'd get the answers a lot quicker than waiting for people to respond in this thread. Just write down all your questions, then call and ask.
SharkTums Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I think it's $35 or $40 to upgrade...call the park to be sure. It's almost always a better deal if you want a pass to just buy one online. The upgrade is more for people who got tickets from work, or are there for a company picnic or something like that.
Jew Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Red Lobster. That's a great option if you want to run the risk of getting your car towed.
ebl Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I have no doubt that all of the businesses down on The Old Road are aware of people parking there to avoid paying at the park. I think it's risky to park anywhere down there for any length of time, not only for towing, but for possible vandalism by people who have any reason to believe that your car will easy to take because they'll have plenty of time to "work on it." That's why I get the Xtreme pass. It's double the price, but quickly pays for itself with multiple visits. The 25% food discount adds up, too.
