Well, the guy at the Dip N Dots stand was replaced by a new employee, so I guess the rumors WERE true about Maverick, but it looks like it is safe at Cedar Point for now, due to the leak. A new project has been undertaken. Diamond Back closed three weeks before the rest of the park did at the end of the season. Rumors about this coaster about to make an exit look to be true. The guy at the Lemon Chill stand was talking about a "horse on fire." The park already has FireHorse, so he must have been confused because he also mentioned a "snake seeking revenge." With Diamond Back rumored to be on its way out, could this ride be some sort of new high tech animal that Cedar Fair has come up with to seek revenge on an old ride the way they did with Hydra and Hercules at Dorney?

The park hasn't had a "new" coaster since 2003, so they are long overdue. Management says they have something in the works so big, so massive, so awesome that even the most hardcore and critical fanboys will wet themselves over it when the ride opens in 2010.

In other news, the Camp Snoopy children's area (and Blue Streak family coaster) are been blocked off for the 2009 season due to construction of the new coaster and staffing issues. With this much space, this new coaster is said to be larger than anything the park has ever seen! Most of the rides were moved a short distance to the new Planet Snoopy children's area which opens in 2009.

Skyhawk opened a few years later, but has had more downtime than Top Thrill Dragster.

Steel Venom opened in the back of the park in 2002. Not many guests get back here anymore.

New kids area? Or money-saving response to the recession?

^^ No I'm not on NE.

You all knew something crazy like this was coming - something so ridiculous and unheard of that it could not possibly ever happen - until NOW! For 2008, the park decided to build a ride dedicated to their business model. Presenting - Trash Can: The Ride! During the adventure, guests will board trash can shaped vehicles and travel along a powered track through four themed areas - The Land of Concrete, The Trash Can Factory, Name & Logos Department, and Journey to Cedar Point. This interactive dark ride will feature "Laser Snake Horse" guns on board the cars that riders will use to shoot the trash cans while competing against one another as digital counters keep track of the scores.

For 2009, the park put in the rejected logo from their new for 2010 coaster as a prop for the ride. This is the second time Cedar Fair has had to change their plans due to a leak of the Laser Snake Horse on Fire logo. First Kings Island, now Rocky Mountain Park. However this time, they abandoned their "largest project for the park ever" due to this leak instead of simply changing the name. The coaster they had planned will show up at another Cedar Fair park under a different name in 2010. Although the initial plan was to use the logo from Rocky Mountain Park's Diamondback on the new King's Island coaster after removing it during the 2008/2009 off season, this Diamondback will not be removed afterall. No new coaster in 2009 or 2010.

The park promises a new coaster for 2011 and are looking to recent coaster installations at other Cedar Fair parks for inspiration.

Trash Can: The Ride. What more needs to be said?

Another amazing ride choice by Cedar Fair. They really seem to understand the general public. I mean seriously, new coaster, or trash-can-themed dark ride?... It's a no-brainer!

^ Yes!

Splash Landing (a mid size body speed slide) was relocated from Oakwood Lake as "Thunder Falls" for part of the mediocre generic kids play area built in 2005.

The old golf course at the back of the park became Challenge Golf, the original race track was replaced with a bigger one called Triple Challenge Raceway, Ripcord (sky coaster) was built, and that section of the park became the Challenge Park in 1997.

And now a look into the future:

The park says it is pursuing the "we think we're better than Disney" idea for the new for 2011 coaster, as well as a redevelopment of the old Camp Snoopy area - which had been closed off and most rides vacated since 2009. No mention of the SBNO Blue Streak family coaster. Given the location in Camp Snoopy, this old coaster could easily be wiped out along with all the abandoned structures for a massive new coaster.

Disney fans will probably recognize this restaurant - under a different name.

Ripcord and Triple Challenge Raceway

The landscaping in the golf course is watered using runoff from the Snake River Falls log flume next door.

Trivia: What real Cedar Fair park is home to the other Thunder Falls slides moved from Oakwood Lake after it closed in 2004?

^ Wait, what is that buildings actual name. I go there all the time( building next to Soarin over California right?)

Cedar Fair better than Disney..... Never Gonna Happen

The Disney Rocks Ghost

Yeah that is it! The restaurant is called Taste Pilots Grill. This is also a clue as to the "theme" of the new coaster.

"We're better than Disney" is a reference to Kings Dominion. Those of you from the east coast trip know what I'm talking about!

Is this gonna be something like the Goofy's flight school or barnstormer but really ghetto?

KD actually said they are better than Disney

FAIL!!!!!!

Even worse...

And Busch too. Hopefully they meant Bush, not Busch.

^ LOL

They think they are Virginia's best park? That's hilarious!

I so hope we see some messed up ride that is Disneyish, like space or thunder mountain, but the mountain should be made of trashcans, and every time there is supposed to be a section with cool atmosphere ruin it with another attraction. The ultimate example of this being what pony express did to Bigfoot rapids.

You've done a good job with this. Several things you've done and said are hilarious. There's just one thing, That park has waaaaaay more theming than any CF park . Keep up the good work.

With Laser Snake Horse on Fire Revenge canceled, Diamondback safe from removal, demolition of the Peanuts Playhouse begun (sound familiar?) in the closed down Camp Snoopy, rumors of the new coaster all point towards the park getting a B&M flyer in 2011.

The coaster will feature a dual loading station built where Peanuts Playhouse used to be. The lift hill will go directly over the Cedar Point Cyclone towards the park entrance. The ride will start with a wrap around drop down towards Cyclone, a twist underneath the lift hill, a massive pretzel loop in a dried up riverbed with a headfirst dive towards the path below, a turnaround in Diamondback's infield, and a turn into the brakes next to Blue Streak over queuing guests below!

So we have a B&M flyer and an aviation themed restaurant as clues for what the name of the coaster will be.

The coaster was originally supposed to be called Aviator, but was changed to Flight Deck because people "it doesn't matter what we name the ride...people don't ride a coaster for what its name is."

Who would have thought such an epic build-up would lead to a Flight Deck coaster? Flight Deck obviously proves this park is better than Disney.

SCR14.BMP

More destructive to a park's atmosphere than Tatsu, Pony Express, and Silver Bullet combined.

SCR13.BMP

Firehawk inspired station, queue, and colors!

SCR12.BMP

Built right over the center of the park.

SCR11.BMP

Cyclone will never be the same.

Does this mean the park is over?

Yeah, the Cedar Fair bashing has come to an end.

My break is over and tomorrow I go back to Colorado for school, so there won't be any new projects from me any time soon. Who knows?...Maybe sometime again when I have lots of unused free time I will start up another park.
