^ Thanks Hector. ^^Yeah, I don't know why she wore a wig during the last part of the show.

Below is her doing a re-imagined rocked out version of the old Madonna classic "Borderline".

The next videos begin the last section of the show, "Rave." The first clip is from Chicago, the "Get Stupid" video interlude, followed buy her performance of her recent hit, "4 Minutes" with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland via video screens. The 3rd video is the end clip from her preforming "4 Minutes" with Timbaland at my show in Miami! Also, I'll be the first to admit, her outfit during "4 Minutes" was not flattering at all! I think she is suppose to be a football player saving the world or something? And I'm not digging the wig. Oh well I still love her!

^ You are correct, that is the sample she used.

Next up is from my concert during the request part of the show in Miami. She had the audience help her sing "Material Girl."

And the finally the final video highlights of the Sticky and Sweet Tour. The first video is of the final song of the show "Give It To Me" from Toronto. The second and third videos are small sniplets from my show when Pharrell Williams surprised Madonna on stage in Miami. I love in the second video how Madonna yelps in surprise when Pharrell appears on stage. Enjoy!

And finally everything you might want to know about the specs of the tour. (Yes, if you didn't already figure it out, I'm a fan! =p)

The Sticky and Sweet World Tour Grosses: (From Billboard/Box Score)

This year Madonna enjoyed the sticky and sweet smell of success. According to numbers released by concert trade magazine Pollstar, the Material Girl was the year's top concert draw in North America with ticket sales in excess of $105 million. After launching last summer in Wales, her Sticky & Sweet tour hit North America in early October for nearly eight weeks of concert dates. Worldwide the tour actually grossed more than $280 million, making Sticky & Sweet the highest-grossing tour ever by a solo artist. Fittingly, the solo record she broke was her own: $195 million for her 2006 Confessions tour. "Not only will this tour be the top selling tour of all time for a solo artist and a female artist (eclipsing her own record), but it will position her as one of the top selling touring artists of all time," noted Arthur Fogel, Live Nation's Chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring, in a statement. Sticky & Sweet, which promotes her 2008 chart-topping album Hard Candy, is the singer's first major venture as part of a new recording, touring and business deal—reportedly worth about $120 million—that she signed with Live Nation in late '07. Madonna was also the iceberg to Celine Dion's titanic road return. Following a five-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the Canadian superstar sold $94 million in tickets to her Taking Chances tour, which finished the year as the second-highest grosser.

The Eagles and Kenny Chesney roped in the third and fourth biggest tours. The Hall of Fame rockers sold $73.4 million worth of tickets, just edging out Chesney's $72.2 million.

Bon Jovi, who had the biggest tour worldwide with nearly $211 million in tickets (per Billboard), sold over $70.4 million in North America for the year's No. 5 spot. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band followed at No. 2 worldwide ($204.5 million) and No. 6 in North America ($69.3 million). The Police reunion tour, which topped 2007 with $132 million in ticket sales, finished ninth in '08 with another $48 million. The year's remaining Top 10 acts included Neil Diamond at No. 7 ($59.8 million), Rascal Flatts ($55.8 million) at No. 8 and Tina Turner ($47.7 million) in the 10 spot.

To recap, the year's Top 10 highest-grossing tours were as follows:

1. Madonna ($105 million)
2. Celine Dion ($94 million)
3. The Eagles ($73.4 million)
4. Kenny Chesney ($72.2 million)
5. Bon Jovi ($70.4 million)
6. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band ($69.3 million)
7. Neil Diamond ($59.8 million)
8. Rascal Flatts ($55.8 million)
9. The Police ($48 million)
10. Tina Turner ($47.7 million)

WOW! I have enjoyed your Photo Report IMMENSLY! I have to say I felt the same pre-show anticipation as I started to view your pics! I didnt even realize that this stuff was in here because I am always so into the coaster thing that I have in my mind when I come to the site! LOL.

Instead of adding a new topic (as I watch the whole Flight 1549 in the Hudson thing over and over again!) I am going to post some of my favorite pics from the show I went to.

My night was the first night in the USA! Saturday, October 4, 2008 @ IZOD Center in NJ. I usually go to Madison Square Garden for M shows, but this time out, the tickets were just priced so high. I normally do not try to fight for seats when they go on sale. I get aggravated doing that. Instead, I keep watch on Ebay for the seats I want, depending on what her stage is like and for the price I want. Yes, I do pay slightly over the top, but usually not much over. This time out - it was heavily rumored that there was a catwalk, however none of the ticket sites had the picture! I literally waited until after the first show to be over to see the video of where the stage was. Its presence was amazing! And yes... a catwalk!!! My day started out great. Went to Prospect park with my daughter, to take pictures of her for her Sweet 16 favor. We got home and left the house for the 8pm entrance at 6. I took my daughter with me since she is a HUGE M fan as well. I knew from all past shows since BA, she has no opener, and doesnt go on until 9ish. This is normal. (So for all those people who complain, DUH!! This is not new). It ended up that the highway thru to the city was jam packed and the tunnel was CLOSED!!! I saw the traffic, turned on 1010 Wins News Radio, and immediately got off the next exit. Took a bridge. BUT, to my dismay - the city was worse than normal. I got to the stadium at 8:30. I wasn't all too worried knowing what time she normally comes on - but I was nervous this time may have been different. But it wasn't! WHEW!! We get our soda and popcorn, which is a tradition at shows and go to find our seats. Our seats were awesome! Two rows off the center, four rows from the center of the end of the catwalk! The next 45 minutes felt like forever! Then it was time... Since you got the breakdown of the show already... on with the photos! I was on the opposite side. And since IZOD is an indoor arena, no big M's on either side of the stage.

^ Those photos are AWESOME! They are so clear! You got so many better pictures! I'm glad you had a great time. Thanks for posting your concert experience, I really appreciate it.

I hope they release Beat Goes On as the last single from Hard Candy, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Warner Brothers probably won't release any more singles so they can release her next greatest hits collection or the rumored box set. If they release a box set, I pray that the Blonde Ambition and Reinvention Tour DVDs will finally be released and be part of that collection!

Thanks! I have soooo many pics from the show. (400+!!) I was afraid they wouldnt come out so good cuz she is all over the place, and quickly at that! I did get lots of blurred pics...but lots of salvagable ones this time out. This was my first M show with a digital camera. Previous shows, I brought 35mm cameras... I should post some of those for you too. I have a few I can put up right now actually...

A concert box set would be very awesome!!!! Definitely something else to look forward to when they finally decide to release whatever it is. As far as singles, and I am such a bad fan for saying this... As far as what singles are out, I wouldnt even know. Reason being is I dont listen to the radio much... Since they stopped making 45's & LP's... I stopped collecting them. I have a few tape singles, and a few cd singles... but when I got my pc, that all went out the window. I had to learn to control my insane habit of buying M merchandise and put the $$ to bills and the kids instead. LOL. Damn priorities! I now concentrate on making my concert experiences very special. (i.e. GET CLOSE! lol) I truly regret not bringing my camera to the Blond Ambition show I went to. I was close for that, and it remains one of my faves!

OK...on to a few pics I have hanging around on photo bucket for ya!

Thanks Lena! I love these pics from the Confessions and Reinvention tours. You have had amazing seats for all the tours! This last tour was the first time I had actually really good seats.

Do you have a favorite of the tours that you have seen? It's hard for me to pick since they are all so different. I have only seen her last for tours: Drowned World, Reinvention, Confessions and of course Sticky and Sweet. I wish I could of seen her older tours live.

Posted

I started to see her live since WTG! I will never forget that one. (I was a fan during the Virgin Tour too, but I was too young to realize she was at Radio City!) We had nosebleed seats in Giants Stadium, to the right on the side. LOL. IT POURED!!!!! (Understatement!!!!). Some nice couple behind us gave me their rain coat! LOL. I still have it. You are right, the tours are all so very different! It is really hard to choose just one. But definitely the one that I had/have the biggest obsession over is Blond Ambition. I can't even say it is because of the DVD release issue, because I have great quality DVD's of three of the shows. IDK... I can say that Drowned World was my least favorite. But I loved it for what it was. Song choice probably played a big part in that. Since Giants Stadium though, we always made sure that our seats were pretty decent. I have never been farther than one section from the stage. I just wish normal prices didn't cost so much! When did you start to like M?

Tonight kicks off Madonna's 2009 leg of her Sticky and Sweet World Tour in London. This summer she will be playing European markets that she has never played before or hasn't played in over 15 years. She will end the tour in September with 2 shows in Tel Aviv, Isreal.

95% of the show will be the same as in the 2008 leg of the tour. A few songs have been added including a rock version of the old Madonna classic Dress You Up that replaces Borderline. And the classic Holiday replaces the newer song Heartbeat. A dance remix version of the 1998 hit Frozen will replace the rock version of Hung Up. As a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, elements of the songs Billy Jean and Wanna Be Starting Something will be mixed with the song Holiday.

To help celebrate the kick-off of the 2nd leg of the tour, Madonna.com has released an ad for the upcoming Sticky and Sweet DVD concert that was filmed last December in Argentina to be released this September. Check out the ad and the updated tour dates below!

How am I just now discovering this thread? I LOVE Madonna! She's my freaking idol!

I was at the same concert you were, in Miami. It was the first concert I ever attended. I was BLOWN AWAY.

It was freezing cold, and I remember being irritated waiting SO long for her to come on. And before seeing the show, I had read a lot of... not so good reviews about the show, so I didn't really have high expectations. The Candy Machine intro came on, and I was still waiting for Madge. And then it started: C-A-N-D-Y. My. World. Stopped. The woman I had spent so much time obsessing over was right there (well, I was pretty far away, in nosebleed seats, but still). I couldn't contain my emotions. It was sublime. The show could not have been better (...unless she replaced Hung Up with, idk, Frozen or something. Oh, wait...).

So yeah. That night was basically one of the best nights of my life. The show. Omg. It was all so amazing.

Btw, if you haven't heard, Celebrate hits radio July 23rd.
