Everybody that wants to celebrate Mardi Gras will be in YOUR home state during that time (I had the pleasure myself this year and it was the time of my life!!). Anything between the first week of January and the end of March is usually good for Orlando.

Disney gets busiest in the couple of weeks closest to Easter, and the week or two right after. I have been to WDW about mid-March (when Easter is in April) and it was a moderate crowd.

I LOVED Mardi Gras... I went with a group of my best friends from my work, and we had the wildest time. It is definitely something I recommend everyone see at least once in their life, but it is definitely not for the prudish! I would go again in a heartbeat!

Not to hijack this thread entirely, but along the same lines: Anyone take a stab at the average crowds for the days just before Valentine's?

EDIT: Well, the Intercot link posted above lists early February as "a good time to go", so that's good enough for me.

I worry though with all their crazy sales if it will start being more crowded! I know there are a few of us who took advantage of their '3 nights free offer if you buy 4 deal' and will be there in February!

Not sure about Feb, but for end of March through first week of April, it has gotten easier to get a room as the deal has gone on. The first night on the deal, the cheapest room was Caribbean Beach Resort and then only the upper tier places. Last week, checked again and everything was open for the same dates. Was able to downgrade to Pop and save over $400. No sure if that means less people are booking and more rooms are in the deal or they just time released them. Just an observation. Either way Disney is a fantastic place, crowds or no crowds.
