kennywood!007
Ever since I saw the layout for Ravine Flyer II I wanted to get out to Waldameer this year very badly. Then last month my mom told me she got discount tickets for all day passes at the park. So I knew then I would get to ride this extremely good-looking wooden coaster. I'll post a review of it after the photos...but for now PICTURES! Can't get many pictures of the ride from foot, so I decided to go on the ferris wheel to get some. I like the calm vibe of the the park. It's very relaxing without the heavy crowds. Water World. We did that before entering the park. They had some decent slides. YAY! The blue bridge. I was loving the views we were getting from up there. Aww look at that little guy. It was very....pink. Twisty goodness. Train...yesssss! YAY! Were stopped at the top. Coming up from the hillside. The 90 degree turn was amazing. After it you dive back down towards the road again. And then back up again. Brakes. Park shot...but back to Ravine Flyer! Standing at the ferris wheel exit. The tunnel was so loud as you went through....but the airtime on those hills was insane. Boo the sun screwed up this shot. The bunny-hill run home. This shot makes the lift look so small. Signage. This sign must of scared them, because I didn't see any the whole day. Go Waldameer! Steel Dragon. Yum. Approaching the lift. Helix..best part in my opinion. This ride was my first of its kind...I loved it. Station shot. This was the only rough spot. It kinda slammed you to the side a bit. Yay for helix. The sun was setting so we decided to go on the ferris wheel for some more pics before it got dark. Park shot. I love how you can see Lake Erie behind it and from the top of the lift. Second first hill...haha More 90 degrees...because it needs to be noticed. Train ride time. COMET! Nice little coaster. In my opinion these were the best slides. The tube slides. Speed slides. Woot. Lazy river. My best friend. haha Cooooool. YAY! I can't get enough of this coaster. Howdy train. Cool first drop shot. Starting to bottom out. Under Ravine Flyer II we go. I really wish a train was on its way around here. Through the trees. Under the slides. One last shot of Comet. After the train ride we left to go get dinner at Perkins. Woo! Bye Ravine Flyer II! You were amazing, my #1 wooden coaster. Ravine Flyer II Review: Out of 10 I would rate this amazing coaster a 10. We rode in the Front twice, Back twice, and middle once. The Front Seat: The view of Lake Erie from the front was just amazing. Personally I thought the best airtime over the tunnel/bridge hills was the front. Also the front was a lot smoother. The highlight of the front for me was the 90 degree turn. Just having nothing in front of you and see the track completely sideways was so thrilling. The highlight of the front was the bridge/tunnel hills and the 90 degree turn. The Middle Seat: I was expecting to be on my seat most of the time in the middle because I was expecting less airtime. But wow, was I wrong. There was great amounts of it in the middle. This seemed to be the wildest seat of the train. The ride was all over the place (in a good way) in this seat, it was hard for me to keep my hands up the whole time cause I didn't want to smack my friend in the face. Highlight would have to be the wildness of the seat. It was just so crazy and enjoyable at once. The Back Seat: Well, we tried to take a nice at least 5 second glimpse of Lake Erie from the top but WOW did it whip you over that first hill. My butt didn't even touch the seat till we hit the bottom of the first drop. Best airtime on a first drop on any wooden coaster I've ridden. The tunnel hills were more ejector in the back than floater. You also got a lot more airtime on the smaller hills in the back. The second-first hill also got tons of airtime in the back. The 90 degree turn was better in the front, but the back was cool as well because you got to see all the people in front of you go completely sideways which gave you a reality check of what was happening and how amazing it was. The highlight of the back had to be the first drop though. I would explain the airtime as ejector leading into floater. It was just pure awesomeness. For those wondering, the line never hit 30 min. It was a lot shorter in the evening. The first time we waited was the longest. Probably about 20-25 min. But well worth waits. It's just such an amazing wooden coaster. Thanks for reading! Go out and ride this coaster ASAP!

STR8FXXXINEDGE
Nice photos! I was just there last month. You definitely got some better pictures from the ferris wheel than I did. I agree with everything that you said about Ravine Flyer II. What an awesome coaster! I tried everything that I could to try and get them to let me take pictures on Ravine Flyer II, but it just wasn't happening. They did let me take photos on Comet though. Millennium Force 44
Great photo trip report! Ravine Flyer II is also my number 1 wooden coaster. It's just that awesome. I love how the ride just throws you around and is gives you that out of control feeling. I've been a hardcore El Toro fan for a while, but Ravine Flyer II is just that amazing that it beat El Toro for my number 1 wooden spot. I also love how the tunnels are so loud, especially the one at the bottom of the first drop. I freakin love this coaster!

kennywood!007
Great collection of photos here. Why did I forget to ride the ferris wheel while I was in the park....doh! Thanks and you really should have, it was pretty much the only way to get photos of the ride other than the station/lift areas. As soon as I saw where the ferris wheel was located I thought "Hmm, I bet I can get some more Ravine Flyer II pictures from up there. Luckily the op saw I had a camera and stopped us at the top. Because there was hardly anyone on it and he let us ride as many times as we wanted.

PhantomNick
Nice Trip Report with some awesome photos! Ravine Flyer II looks incredible, and I am extremely pumped to be heading there one week from today!! Their other 2 major coasters look like fun little rides as well. I've been on spinning mice before, but never on an actual spinning coaster like Steel Dragon. I will definitely take the advice and catch a ride on Waldameer's Ferris Wheel to try and snag some quality RFII shots.
kennywood!007
^It didn't spin much, but for as much as it did spin it was great. Really fun ride, smooth too. My advice for that coaster would be try to get the backwards seat for the lift/first drop its way better than going forwards.
