The park has decided to refrain from the Journey into Tomorrow area right now. This is so they can concentrate on the Wild West area as parts have come in for new rides. All I have today is pictures of the new vintage car ride which journeys through the woods right around the entrance into the Wild West.

Things I Need From You All

1. What to put in the unused building.

2. Name for Vintage Car Ride.

3. Some suggestions as to what to

put in both of the areas under construction.

4.Continue to comment/criticize.

Thank you for all suggestions, comments, criticism, and help you have all given. It has really helped with the construction of this park and will continue to help as I open and run the park.

I really like the car ride! Can't wait to see what you do with the Wild West section...

Thanks, I definatly planned on having a mine train coaster, but didnt really think of those other things. Thanks for the sweet Shoppe idea, for some reason I thought I already had one of those, so I skipped out, but then I just discovered I didn't.

Announcement

Hey everybody, I will not be able to work on the park for like 4 days. I need to read 1 of my 4 summer books and do the one assignment that we have. I will probably work on the park after I have finished the reading that I want to get done each day, but its not a guarantee, so don't expect any updates. They might come, but they might not. That does give you guys time to give me some ideas for the Journey into Tomorrow section though.

Ok, so I pretty much lied about the whole not gonna have too many updates. It turns out that I read 1984 much faster than planned and had plenty of time to work on the park. I spent most of it doing little stuff and refining the park.

I built a station for Journey West, the Vintage car ride. I was sort of aiming for the old timely mansion, Tudor style thing. Its not exactly Wild West, but it is the same time period. I also added fencing, eliminated the diagonal paths, added flowers, trees, etc.

Good, I hoped it would be liked. It turned out much better than it looked like it was going to during construction. I'm really happy with that ride overall. I think it fits into the park very well.

Auroria Mine Train has been built along with the station and Que. Wagon Wheel a small ferris wheel has also been added. The whole Wild west area is coming together very quickly and will hopefully be done soon so construction on the Journey into Tomorrow section can be finished and the park will be able to open. There have been rumors as to what the final roller coaster will be added before the park opens. I will give you a hint, it will be in the Wild west area of the park and is being designed my a much loved company. Also please remember suggestions as what to put in Journey into Tomorrow.

Love Journey West's station! Very pretty!

The Mine train is ok... not my favorite, but it's ok. Wagon Wheel is a good idea, but the que line is somewhat weird... I guess the pavement in a Wild West area? Please fix that if you can.

So far, the park seems to be coming along nicely. Will you release a Year 1 download when the park opens?

As for the new coaster, my guess is a B&M Sitdown.

Posted

^ I have a few questions about that. What do you mean by pavement in the Wild West area, most of it is cobblestone. Also, what exactly about the Que line for Wagon Wheel is weird?

I do plan on releasing a download before I open the park. A media day preview if you will.

You are very close on the B&M sit down, but not quite right. I will give another clue though. This has both to do with the name and the coaster type. As I am sure that most people will know what it is right away, guessing what the name is would be great.

Hint 2: You'll be getting some hang time.

I really need some help people. Ive been working on the park and noticed something was wrong. I couldn't figure it out until just now what made the current section not as good as the entrance. I need more buildings! The problem is, I dont know how to make western/wild west style buildings. I really need you guys to either point me in the direction of a park on like new elements, or some pictures of rct2 western builindgs, anything. I am really not liking how the western section is turning out because it looks to open. It needs more buildings resturaunts, stores, bathrooms, etc. Like a real park. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me with this.

I really like Gallows!

I don't really know where you could incorporate the buildings...maybe install one into the side of the hill? (Use 0 clearances in 8cars)

But the area looks fine as it is. No need to overcrowd it...

Posted

^ But there are no Bathrooms, Stores, Restaurants, etc. Every real park has at least one of each of those in each area of the park, usually themed to wherever it is.

Posted

Ok well heres my idea of what to do. First Ill start with the photo where you see 2 giant red boxes a bunch of black, and a small purple one.

Red Boxes

1. I would re-route galllows more in this general direction to give you more space to occupy buldings and to make the buildings look more fluent without having to avoid the giant coaster in the way.

2. Re-route the cars ride, and after the turn outta the station make it go underground, so you can theme it to like a mine or something and name it "Miner" or "Digger" or something.

Black Boxes

1. Put a gift shop to gallows

2. Just put in like a restaraunt/food court

3. Station to an extra ride? Maybe a flat....

4. Bathrooms

5. Decorative building

(theme these buildings to a ghost town, thatll look cool.

The purple box next to buildings 4 and 5 is optional but maybe a banner for "Ghost Town."

Ill upload the second photo later.

^I'll take your thoughts into consideration. The only problem is not so much the fact that I need a plan, but more that I dont know how to make western, ghost town, etc. type of buildings. Your plan is great but I think by using it my park would become more other peoples than mine. Now names of rides and types are a little different. But I need some help as to how to make the Ghost Town style buildings that you are suggesting. That is what I was trying to get at in my plead for help.

Sorry, didnt get to post the rest of what I wanted to do, but basically, where you have the ferris wheel in that screenshot, to the top and left across the pathway, put like a cafe or something in there, and maybe next to it put a station and add like a kiddie coaster or something.

As for making Wild West buildings I would go with a mix of wood, and the old western kinda things, or just use wood straight up, thats what I like.

EDIT: Wait, are you looking what to make the buildings out of or what to shape them like?

Posted

I understand your problem, it's difficult to make a western themed area in RCT2. My advise is:

-change the ground into sand

-use scenery from the western and mine theme + plants from the North America theming from the Wacky Worlds expansion pack

-try to build buildings around a mainstreet and fill the rest up with trees (but not to many because it's a desert)

Here's an example from a park I made. It's nowhere near a perfect example but maybe it could inspire you.
