DBru Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 The Red Flash is a classic ACE woodie, except--- it doesn't exist. This wild wooden coaster was dreamed by Thomas Swell, along with a short story line regarding the experience of riding it (which can be found Spring 1991 Bonus Issue of RollerCoaster!). The coaster was designed by Ed Vettel, and located at Medicine Hat Amusements in the Hudson Bay area. So far, I've only completed the pre-lift tunnel, lift, and (hardly) banked turn. The turn was supposed to be unbanked, but I didn't want any complaints of red g's, so I rotated it about 25*. Here is the layout from the magazine and what I've done so far: The lift and first drop in the distance... Pre-lift tunnel Original layout from "RollerCoaster!"
dr.gumbo Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Never heard of it and to be honest it doesn't look very exciting. I hope it comes out better than it looks.
DBru Posted June 9, 2008 Author Posted June 9, 2008 Well, the more and more I constructed this coaster, it just didn't come out a fun ride like I expected it to. Therefore...I have scrapped this idea. Sorry Red Flash! -Daniel
Sasquatch Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Shame you had to abandon it, do you mind if i have a crack at it?
