Well the best clubs are at:

Wynn-TrYst

Palms-Rain

Luxor-LAX

Awesome. I've been waiting for a 14 year old Vegas expert to tell me about the hottest clubs! While we're at it, can you also direct me to the best strip joint? Thanks in advance.

Well

uhh; most of the strip clubs are at the outskirts of vegas.

But cesars palace has a bar with shadow dancing! Its called "Shadow."

Haha, yeaa. My mom just tells me about the clubs and stuff.

Plus to continue on.

The best Shows:

O- Bellagio

La Reve- Wynn [My personal favorite] around $110 for minimal view seats.

Ka'- MGM Grand"Cirque Du Soleil's newest show.

The Beatles LOVE - Mirage

Well I can just ensure you, whatever show you watch it will be good or decent, because come on these are multi billion dollar resorts. They cant have crappy entertainment.

If you want cheaper shows or acts, go to the old side of vegas; you know where the golden nugget is?

So yea, the reason I'm really good at this, is because i've been here twice each year since I was five.

Haha.

Also I forgot to mention two other clubs which are wildly popular:

Tangerine- T.I.

The Mix[On top of the mandalay bay] - Mandalay Bay

If you want to avoid two- three hour long lines, make sure you get there early or when the clubs open. All these nighclubs have a dress code, some are different; but most say this "No sandals, No Crocs, Jacket Needed[for men], No converse, no casual, Trendy & Chic only.

---

Off topic, but I have to advertize this for my uncle's company "empire society".

This is for anybody that lives In houston, TX/ or anybody near that area!!

Link to see whats its like.

^ Yea it probably is. Ka' isn't really the newest but its pretty new.

I dont know for sure what the dress codes are but ;I know the expensive ones are strict like TrYst.

i have no clue about shadow if they changed their name or not or just took it out. I dont check up on caesars alot.

If you don't hate Star Trek, I'd suggest you check out the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. The preshows to the motion ride and 4D movie are a lot of fun. Quark's Bar can also be entertaining, especially on busy nights when a few Star Trek characters are roaming around.

Shark Reef at Mantillian Bay is also worth seeing.

Luxor has a decent motion ride with a so-so pre-show, but I recommend watching the IMAX movies -- especially any of the 3D ones.

^ yea those are fun!

The Shark reef is cool and its cheap. Its around the $10 i think? I forgot.

Its mandaylay bay, no mantillian bay.. haha

the imax at the luxor is my favorite!

Dont forget to ride speed!! at the sahara!

Ok; i am the vegas expert.

Dude, your enthusiasm for Vegas is nice. But if you're not sure exactly what you're talking about, then maybe you should think about sitting out the next play or two, and let the experts (mainly, people who actually live there) handle the questions. Just a thought.

^Thank you. I've lived here my entire life and I work on the strip but I didn't wanna come off as a jerk and take over the thread.

At the same time, I think its cool to see what other people have to say about my hometown (even though I despise it )

Don't even waste your time tring to go see the tigers and animals at the Mirage, it costs like $35 per person.

If you want to ride some coasters, if you go 45 min down Highway 15 towards the border, you will through a small town called Primm. There, go to Buffalo Bill's Resort, there is a coaster there called Desperado, it costs like $7 and it is awesome.

Try seeing the San Diego Wild Animal Park, I have never been to it, but I heard it is cool.

ArrowHater, not to be rude, but please stop posting about things to do in LV. You are not a LV expert, just because you are there, doesn't mean you know everything about it. There is nothing worse than having a 14 tell you about bars, clubs, and stripper joints; you have 7 more years untill you can even get within 100ft of. There are a lot of people on TPRwho are over 21, been to all of those things legally, live and/or work there, and go there more than 5 times a year. And again, not to be rude, but leave the adult things to adults. But yes, I am glad that you have a lot enthusiasm about this cool city.

I used to despise it as well. Being gone for 14 months has made me grow fond again. Once I am back though, I probably will hate it again.

I think the answers in this thread have been great. There really is so much to do in these places that wherever you go, I am sure you will have a blast. You are young, so you can always come back for more later on! Have fun.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is a must. Do all of the rides in Las Vegas. If I were you, my top priorities would be to go the Adventuredome and then make a trip up the Stratosphere Tower. For any rides in Las Vegas, make sure you buy a wristband because you WILL want to ride again.

We definately will do all the rides. Is the road to Los Angeles the same one that the Desperado is at? I am looking forward to the trip. I have never been to Vegas or to California.

Bring lots and lots of sun block! Vegas feels like my oven, and at night, when you think its cooler, its still like 108*F! If you plan on bringing kids/teens with you, DO NOT GO TO THE ORLEANS!!! Worst arcade ever! Also the food at the buffet there is terrible. It's like a fake Golden Corral lol. My family went to Vegas and LA last year in July and it was funny because while we were in Vegas, we were wishing for 60 degrees, but when we got to LA and it was actually 60 degrees it was cold.

Well, I just got back from Vegas last month, stayed at Luxor this time.

Anyway for shows, I saw "O" this time at the Bellagio, and its is breathtaking. I haven't been to Vegas' other Cirque shows yet, but O is the by far the best of its kind that I have seen. (I have seen three of their touring shows) While waiting to get into O, we were talking up someone who was just raving about Mystere.

If you are a Star Trek fan, I hear Star Trek Experience is on the endangered attractions list, talk on the Trekkie sites is that it may be history by the end of the year. Yes, its very expensive ($43), but the special effects are out of this world. Plus you can get a ticket stub that still bears the logo and name "Paramount Parks" on it, if that gets you excited. ($5 off if you buy web tix in advance)

Be mindful if its windy, Insanity doesn't take wind, at all. (Says the one who went to Vegas during a windy week and got iced out of being able to ride Insansity) Stratosphere Tower can also be quite costly at $34 for the POP package for their three rides. The Big Shot is one of the best S&S towers for power, X-Scream is a novelty good for a ride or two (be sure to ride up front in the front seat for your first ride!)

Circus Circus has Adventuredome in the back - $25POP, I have seen some $4 off coupons floating around for it. Has the Canyon Blaster arrow multi-element ( one of the smoothest Arrows around), and bunch of flat rides.

Manhattan Express - oh boy - It's not as bad as people make it out to be, but its not that great either, and at $14 PER RIDE, yep PER RIDE, ts very expensive (But hey the second ride is only $7 and ther do offer a $25 POP) Then again I got a back seat ride with the shoulder bar almost all the way up, and learned the thing actually has airtime.

Speed the Ride ($10/ride, $22/POP also includes Cyber Speedway) - fun Premier rides shuttle, still has OTSRs.

All in all the rides in Vegas aren't that great, but they are credits! You may think they are costly but they do keep you safely away from the tables and slots.

I did the Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage, and its only $15, not $35. It's not exactly Sea World, but it was fun with the up close and personal views available by standing tankside while a trainer interacts with the dolhpins.

For the record, I also did Madame Tussauds - go as a group, they have plenty of photo opportunities where you can be next to the wax figure of your choice. ($24)

Eiffell Tower Experience it is about what you'd expect, an observation tower. ($10)

In Serach of the Obelisk - Not a bad ridefilm, and the preshow was actually pretty good for a non theme park venue. ($10)

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay ($16) - well worth it, its actually a full blown aquarium attraction, not just sharks.

Oh, one other thing you might want to consider, the Las Vegas Power Pass, they start at $79 for one day, to $140 (web price) for 5 days, and include unlimited use o a long list of attractions, including Speed, Manhattan Express, Adventuredome, Star Trek Experiece, Eiffell Tower, Madamme Tussauds, Dolpin Habitat & Secret Garden, and much more Its one of those passes that before you buy it you have to run the numbers and see if it makes sense to you. I paid $140 for a 5 day card, and wound up getting $210 worth of admissions out of it, so I came up ahead on it.

Conisder though a 1 day $79 card, take it to Star Trek ($43) Adventuredome ($24), Speed the ride ($22), Manhattan Express ($14 - sorry 1 ride per day limit) thats $103 value for $79. Not a bad discount.

If you do gamble, be sure to get the slot club card for the your hotel, then visit the players club desk BEFORE you check out, With enough play, they may negotiate your hotel bill down a bit. Once we had them tear the whole thing up, for a weeks stay.

Oh you mentioned magic show, you might want to check down at the Tropicana, I think they have one during the afternoon, and you might even get free tickets if you stop by their promotions booth.

Oh and from what I recall they can't have actual strip clubs on the Strip, but there are a few topless shows that go as far as the limits allow.

Thanks for all the tips. What do you say to try and get free tickets? That would be something fun to do besides gambling. And that little pass sounds like a good deal also depending on what things you decide to do. And we are staying at a timeshare my friend's family got for free from someone. I think its on the south side of the airport.

Well, about the Power Pass , information is at their website

http://www.visitticket.com or let me hot link you right to the page you want

http://www.visiticket.com/LasVegas/attractions_all.aspx

Free tickets for the magic show at Tropicana, my uncle won them at a promotions booth in front of the casino. They have a game there and you are guaranteed to win something just for playing (for free even), it could just be a deck of cards, or the show tickets. So I don't know what the odds are on the free show tickets, but I know thats one of the prizes.

Thanks for that link. That looks like it is a good deal if you do all of the attractions. Anyone ever seen Ka? I think that one is the show we are looking at seeing right now. I got a e-mail for 35% off.

^Yes, I've seen Ka twice. Its my favorite of all the Cirque shows in Vegas. Its definately worthwhile to see it, especially with the discount (Cirque Club right? I got the same email).

If you have some time, there's also stuff away from the Strip as well, but seeing as how you've never been here, I'd imagine you'd wanna stay in that area.

Just a heads up for the rides down at Primm. The attractions are closed two days of the week. Last time I checked it was Tuesday and Wednesday and they close at 8p on Sunday and Thursday (11p on Friday and Saturday). Just something to keep in mind if planning to stop there. Also the Turbo Drop (first in the world) and Desperado are very sensitive to wind, so be mindful of that as well.

Yes I've seen Ka and I've seen it many times because I work at the MGM Grand. In my opinion I think it is in the best Cirque show on the strip. Sorry I've been out of touch, been out of town for a few weeks. When booking shows try and stay away from vegas.com and broker websites like that. They have a lot of hidden surcharges. If it is a slow week keep an eye out on the strip for Tix4Tonight discount ticket booths.

You will get some shows at a discount, but beware it has its catches, like where you get to sit in certain shows. Also if you want the best seats and best price for shows in Vegas, always go to the source. The ticket counters at the property where your show is at and ask for discounts like AARP, AAA, Military etc.

  • 1 year later...

In fact there is. It's $30 dollars at the MGM Grand. Departs every hour starting I believe at 9am going to the mall out there. You can take the free tram from Terrible's casino to Buffalo Bills. Always call 1-800-FUN-STOP to

find out if the rides will be open. You can buy

the tickets downstairs next to MGM Grands lobby in the star lane shops across from Houdinis Magic Shop. For more info on the shuttle contact MGM Grand at (702) 891-1111. The nominal taxi fee to Primm is $100 each way. Hope this helps.

John.
