Calicruiser Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Hey everybody! how´s it going? Me and a bunch of friends wanna go to knotts berry farm this week. We were just wondering if anybody knows whether it is gonna be packed there this week cuz of spring break??? we will definetely go during the week and not on the weekend. thanks for your help!!! peace by the way, tpr is awesome
SharkTums Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 This week may still be busy, but nothing compared to the last two weeks.
GuruGuys Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I will be in the area on April 21-24th, I want to visit SFMM and Knotts on the 22 and 23 (Tuesday and Wednesday). This will be my first visit to both parks. Which park should I do on which day, or does it really matter? Is there anything else I should try to squeeze in with the half day I have on the 21st or 24th while I'm in the area? Any park tips or advice like what to ride first at park opening etc? -GG
RCFreak Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Most schools around here are done with there spring breaks so it doesn't matter which park you hit, especially if it's on those weekdays. Knott's can be done in a very short amount of time, at least I don't think you'd really want to spend an entire day at KBF. I just checked the site and it says that Montezooma's Revenge and Sierra Sidewinder will both be down for scheduled maintenance on those days as well, just so you know.

I noticed sidewinder down but didn't see Montezoomas revenge until you pointed it out. If I put Knotts on Thursday (I'll have till 3pm before I have to head to the airport), it will leave me with an entire day open for something else. Any suggestions? Keep in mind everything there is new to me but Disney is not really an option at this point as I'd want more time there. Also, if I hit Knotts on Thursday, when should I leave from Burbank to make it to Knotts when they open at 10am. My friend I'll be staying with tells me it can take two hours to get there due to traffic? -GG
RCFreak Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Universal and Hollywood? That could easily kill a day driving around LA (mostly in traffic lol) It's not that far from Burbank. Santa Monica isn't that far either and there's a credit out there as well as plenty to see walking around. I would say leave Burbank about 9 - 9:30 for Knott's, I don't think it'll hurt too much if you don't get there right at 10, and it'll definitely save you the headache of the worst of morning traffic.
sfmmrules! Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I will be going to Knotts end of July on a Tues most likely. How busy is it?
ebl Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 During July, the park will be crowded no matter which day you go, but better a Tuesday than a Saturday. Eric
sfmmrules! Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Can you tell me approx how long the lines would be: -Xcelarator -Ghost Rider -Silver Bullet -Poney Express -The Log Ride -Montezooma's Revenge -Jaguar -Boomerang & aren't Montezooma's Revenge & Astroworld's Greezed Lightnin the exact same? I read somewhere that Astroworld's Greezed Lightnin was the best of its kind? But shouldn't they both be the best if theyre the exact same?
ebl Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Yep, Montezooma's Revenge and Greezed Lightning are the same kind of ride. Montezooma's Revenge is the only U.S. Schwarzkopf shuttle still in its original location. I rode it a month ago and it was running just fine. I couldn't tell you exactly how long lines will be. And Knott's doesn't have any kind of "line cutting" program (like FastPass), so there...you wait. Eric

Xcelerator-10 min Ghostrider-Closed Silver Bullet-15 min Pony Express-20 min Log Ride-10 min Montezoomas Revenge-5 min Jaguar-5 min Boomerang-15 min You should be fine.
knottslover77 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Montezoomas Revenge is the only one of it's kind in recent years that I know of that travels all the way up the back spike. I'm not 100% sure so can some one clarify this for me please? Thanks. --Jay
Rct3man777 Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Maybe not the first, but it travells all the way up because there are no brakes on the spikes like most other Greezed lightnin' clones.
sfmmrules! Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Knotts was HOORIBLE!!! I didn't care for it at all. Except for of course Montezooma's Revenge. I had fun on that since I have missed the old Greased Lightnin at CGA. Ghostrider was AWFLE! I hate those GCI woodies. Its worse than Roar.- Much! I wish I took my parents & everybody else's advise: don't go! It sure was the CGA of the South. Xcelator was closed. Did I miss anything? I don't think I did. Now I can tell people to not go & its not worth it. Just go to Disneyland & SFMM. That will do!
Wes Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Ghostrider was AWFLE! I hate those GCI woodies. Its worse than Roar.- Much! Not to nitpick too much, but Ghostrider is a CCI, not a GCI. CCI's have tended to hold up much worse than GCI's without rigid maintenance.
Rct3man777 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 TIP: If you want to have a GOOD day at knott's, go on a day where it isn't crouded! That's when employees seem nicer and rides are working amazingly nice! Plus: NO LINES FOR ANYTHING WHATSOEVER! But I guess I was just lucky about the rides and employees.
