BeemerBoy Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Well, we did it with Epcot Center, so it was only right that the rest of "The World" got the love it deserves. First of all, a big nod of appreciation to Shane and Scott for their great retro threads. Scanning all this stuff is incredibly time consuming, and my hat's off to them for inspiring Matt and I to post what stuff we have. I'll start off with a Vacation Guide, circa 1979. It's the oldest one I currently own, and there's some great pictures and information in this one....particularly the green pages. Check out some of the prices listed for certain services, etc. Enjoy! I love the Treehouses. Sexy night shot of the Contemporary. I miss 20K sooooo bad. A great shot of the fire engine that used to reside in the, well.....fire station on Main Street.
Erik Johnson Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I hope to find a few books from the mid 70's around my folks house. I did post a few retro photo TRs a while back from the mid 70's. You can find them here: Magic Kingdom 1974 http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19822 Magic Kingdom 1976 http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19828 Magic Kingdom Early 80's. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19813
BeemerBoy Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 ^ Erik, those are great! And yes, by all means, jump in and post whatever classic stuff you got.
twistedmickey Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Thank you for posting this. For $30 you were able to get a 3 day pass to the Magic Kingdom. The world has gone to hell!
Chrissie Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Loving this thread! Btw, how creepy are retro Mickey n Minnie?? I have a retro TR around here too, I will post a link once I find it. I love retro-ness!!
RIP Psyclone Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I too am a sucker for vintage theme park stuff, especially when it's Disney. Scott, do you have fond memories of "if you had wings"?
Swimace Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 ^^I loved those sky buckets! The views from up there were just amazing! At least BGA still has their skyway intact for all of the Florida folk. I have a ton of old pamphlets laying around in Florida, maybe I'll post some of them in May or so.
