Hattuchili Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Photo-TR: Heide Park (It Was So Crowded) My first park since I am back from Orlando. Hey guys, I know I havn´t been on the boards in the last weeks, but I was so damn busy here. I am working on some plans to leave Germany, again! That is all a lot of work... Anyway, a few weeks ago I had the chance to visit my home park - Heide Park. It was nice to go back and one reason was their new coaster "Desert Race"! It is a nice fast coaster, but the track is kinda short. I wish the track would be longer. However, it was very crowded on that day and so warm, but not as warm as Orlando in the summer! We had a great day and could ride Colossos and Desert Race a few times, even with 1 hour waiting time. So, enjoy the pictures. --Soren Park overview - Thanks for reading! Scream Michael and Alexandra - we all had a break. Kamilla Chris and me Big Loop is still running and is not bad for the age. The Bobbahn. Chris liked the coaster and I don´t know why! ... The coaster still hurts a lot! Limit another shot from Colossos ... the first drop is awesome. ahh, Colossos - it is still one of my favorite wooden Coaster. ... The launch. nice airtime hills. and the blue car. But in total nice theming - here the red car. I am not sure if I like the helicopter there!? We are getting closer. aww, on our way to Desert Race. Hallo Spencer Studio The weather would be perfect for a ride on their water ride. The entrance. The theming is not bad. Their new hotel. It was so crowded we had to park in the far back. Welcome at the Heide Park
Homer Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Great TR Soren. Heide Park looks like a nice park as with most Europe parks. As for leaving Germany again. Trying to get back to Disney? If so, good luck, maybe I can finally meet up at the Germany pavilion!
jedimaster1227 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Hey Soren! Glad to see a new photo TR, and I'm glad that things back in Germany are going well for you. It feels quite odd not being able to go to the Germany Pavilion to see you anymore, though I do visit Joel at the Mexico pavilion when I go to Epcot. Anyways, thank you again for all of the times you took off from your break just to talk with me and I hope all continues to be well with you in Germany. Whenever you plan on returning to Orlando, let me know, maybe I can grab a quick photo or meet you at one of our parks...

I am sorry, but I will not make it back to Disney, soon! I will go to Brasil to stay with my girlfriend. But I still hope I will make it back to Disney anytime in the future! --Soren

WillMontu Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I hope to visit that park next year if I make it on the Europe trip. Looks like a nice park I've noticed that you've grown back your facial hair!

I hope you can make it on the Europe Trip, because Germany has some nice parks! --Soren
PKI Jizzman Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Great TR and very nice pics! Colossos looks like an amazing Intamin woodie, almost like an El Toro prototype layout. Limit is a coolcoaster name, but doesn't look like a nice ride! I still think it's funny the majority of the coasters/rides there are white. -J "Still dreaming of riding an awesome Intamin woodie" Z
Groteslurf Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Hi Soren, nice to read from you again. Heide park is such a nice park but unfortunately approx 500 km from where I live so not a park I can visit regularly. Luckily, I have to attend a meeting in Hamburg in 2 weeks and I will be able to squeeze in a visit to Heidepark the afternoon of 10th of September. I'm really looking forward to riding Colossos again and try out Desert Race. As I will be alone while visiting HP on the 10th, if you (or someone else) would like to meet up that day, plse let me know. Edit : I hope the crowds will be ok that day.
Hattuchili Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 I still think it's funny the majority of the coasters/rides there are white. It is really strange, in the first years they only used white and green for the most of their rides and coaster. I am not a big fan of it and I am glad it changed! --Soren

Bruno Lancetti Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Ahahah!!! I love this crazy pic!!! Hot-Dog take-away!!! During the lift hill you can select the sauce and order the HD... and than during the first drop you may pay (cash only!!!) and open your mouth for an immediate "pick-up"...!!! The first real Hot-Dog Coaster!!! We can launch this new incredible business... ahahahah...!!!
Chrissie Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Great TR Soren!! Heide looks like a lovely little park.Do you feel you compare everything to Disney now?? Hehe! Have fun in Brazil!! Are you going to live there??
Groteslurf Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Heide looks like a lovely little park. If I'm not mistaken, Heide park is actually Germany's biggest themepark based on the size of the park. If you compare the coasterstats of this park with e.g. CP of SFGA, then you are right calling HP a little park
verticalzero Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I drove from England (7 hours from my house with a stop over at Walibi World in Holland for a day) to Heide-Park in 2005. I found it very tidy and ever so friendly staff. T he Park is laid out very nice with all the rides being in a "not too far away walk" from each other. The mighty Colossos is heaven for a Woodie, the 1st outward leg over the hills are amazing, you would not stay in the seat if the seatbelts were not there. The worst part of the ride is the downward helix which is rough, you hit more mini hills and the banked corner into the brakes. When the trains goes over the outward hills you can hear the "Upstop" wheels working over-time. Both water rides are great fun with a big drop at the end of one of them and the station is underground. Let's hope the park can get planning permission for a Mini "MF" style coaster. I'll def visit Heide-Park again in a few years to sample the delights of German hospitality and the wonderful Colossos.

Hey Chrissie, yes, I feel like I compare everything with Disney. Same with you? I will move to Brasil to stay there with my girlfriend. --Soren
