pierced_b0i Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 When did Texas Twister get painted? It matches Thunderhawk now . The park seems to be getting worse and worse .
Little Coaster Girl Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Yes studying, maybe his dream is to become a structural engineer and he wants to build roller coasters. Exactly! I think if terrorists want to attack there going to attack bigger stuff and not worry about a coaster that isnt even running. It sounds like to me that they dont want anyone to catch any of there screw ups on camera. I do want to get there in the near future so i can get the credits before they all disapear. At least one of there coasters is actually coming closer to me. (Dorney)
FlyingScooter Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 When did Texas Twister get painted? It matches Thunderhawk now . The park seems to be getting worse and worse . TT got painted the same year as T-Hawk. Guess they got a good deal on those colors. Great pics of the park. Funny, they didn't wany you taking pics on the platform, but no problems taking pics of the cesspool of the old waterpark. What's really sad is, most of those water rides weren't even three years. What a waste.
CoasterFanatic Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Actually it is not that uncommon for parks to not want pictures taken in the station. I have been asked a couple different places to stop. As for the rest of the park including the water park, I still think it is a matter of people just not interpreting the rules correctly. I found the photo persecution kind of funny actually because in the Six Flags days there were a bunch of employees who didn't understand the rules either and tried to prohibit people from taken ANY pictures at the park. Just sort of a funny time in Geauga Lake history.
Swoosh Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Just sort of a funny time in Geauga Lake history. You mean SAD, not funny
mcjaco Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 ^ No, right now is a sad part of GL history. Ted's story is a funny part. How can you try to ban people from taking any pictures? Get it?
Homer Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 ^He was talking about the SF era, not the CF era. Oh good ol' SF employees. Geez, that slide tower is STILL there? Tis' a waste, they were installed back in 2003 and now they're covered in weeds. I seriously hope CF cleans up that section of the park, its just an eyesore in general now. Thanks for this GL update. I'm kinda glad were skipping it on the Midwest trip now.
RollerC Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 You must of went on a weekday because for the past couple of Saturdays, the ride side has been getting really crowded. I wouldn't be surprised to see that there was an increase in attendence this season.
John Peck Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Texas Twister was repainted THIS year. The public is eating it up, they think it's a brand new ride. It draws people to itself as well as the Peanuts show, the 3-Point Challange and the Cornhole game right in the heart of Frontier town. That area was gridlocked for a bit. Since getting repainted in 05, Thunderhawk is another ride that the public is flocking to. Saw lots of people running to get in line for it on Saturday. Im not too worried about the old waterpark, since the skyscraper isn't running, and Big Dipper moves too fast to see anything good enough anyway, I don't think the public see's it as that much as an eyesore, most don't even know it's there nowadays, and you cant see the pools from the road since there are privacy fences along Route 87. The park is looking and running better now than it has for years.
coastermaniac Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 The station that you said was X-Flight's is really the monorail. X-Flight was where that big patch of land is in the front of the park (it's basically in the parking lot).
Little Coaster Girl Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Does the memphis kiddie park have any coasters ?

Little Coaster Girl Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Cool, somehow i missed that trip report. Thanks.
Goliath513 Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 The water park looks better than the actual amusement park.
coasterdude5 Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Cool trip report, I had no idea that the old waterpark was still there, it's pretty abandoned, haha.
RollerC Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Here's a video of the waterpark http://www.geaugalake.com/public/kiosks/videomodule.cfm?mode=video&id=8&MediaTypeID=5 seems like CF really wants to deck it out in the comming years.
