CoasterFanatic
Yesterday afternoon most of my pool team met up down at John's house for a few juicy steaks before heading to Pittsburgh for the Annual Pennsylvania Microbrewers Festival. Here are some pictures: To finish off the evening, I grabbed a bass and jammed a couple tunes with Izzy. After the beer festival we headed to Mustang Sally (Back in Weirton) where Izzy was playing the blues. Another John poses for a picture with his wife. A shot of John and Cathy. Thanks again to Cathy for being the DD. It was a really cool gesture on her part. Another shot of the Blues Orphans The Troeggs booth. Now these hippies can make some serious beer. The crowd seems to agree as they gather round the front of the stage. The "Blues Orphans" were actually a very good band. They played throughout the whole session. Cheers! Dave in a feeble attempt to flip me off while I get a shot of Jeff and John (yet another John) posing in front of the band Some of the group pauses long enough for a picture. The Dogfish Head booth distributes the goods. Paul is just happy to be out of the van. The line for the 8pm session is starting to work it's way down the street. The Penn Brewery is right outside of downtown Pittsburgh. You can see the skyline pretty well from the entrance. We parked by the Dogfish Head van, so we figured a photo was in order. We pull up to the Penn Brewery for the 8-11pm session. The Penn Brewery makes some of the finest German style beers in the US. Can we get out of the van yet? Along the way, we pass PNC Park. Home of the Pittsburgh Pirates Jeff and I grab a seat in the back row. The drive to Pittsburgh is about 40 minutes from the house. After our meal, we piled in the van. 14 people in all! Big thank you to Cathy (John's wife) for being the DD. Chimay (That's right ... the Belgium Beer) welcomes everybody with a big grin. John (John's Brother in law) mans the grill. Hattuchili
Hey Ted, nice Drinking Report. It is great to see other DR´s from the members. I really like the one with the big cigars. It is so relaxed. Keep´em coming! Hattuchili's still own, no offense. They are classics. I hope this is a compliment, and you like my DR´s? --Soeren
FlyingScooter
Cool, the DR's are taking off! Nice pics, Ted! We have a place in Cleveland called Great Lakes Brewing Co. They've been brewing since the 70's i believe. Big selection with a huge range. They also have great food and one of the longest carved wooden bars i've ever seen: It's like, 50 feet long! We go there every once in a while and try a differant beer every time. some good, some not-so-good, but always a good time. once again, i say, I need a digital camera. CoasterFanatic
^ Great Lakes was at the festival. We didn't stop by though, because John has two kegs tapped in his basement right now (Pale Ale and Stout).
