Dr Freeze Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 topic says it all I'm going to SFGam on sunday. I already have a season pass, so admission is taken care of. Anything like Low-Q or Fast Pass? What kind of wait times should I expect for Superman and Raging Bull? SFOG is my home park - so I don't need to ride Superman more than once. I'd like to get on Raging Bull at least 3 times (no hypers at SFOG). I'm ok with just 1 ride on all the others.
coasterdude5 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 My advice is get there early and RUN to Raging Bull. It is pratically empty at the beggining of the day so you should be able to get a couple of walk-throughs before the line starts to fill up. After that, I'd go to Superman. I've been using this technique for the past few years and it's worked great. Good luck and have a great time.
diggerg56 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 I've visited four Sunday's so far this season and it hasn't been too bad until about 2pm or so and then it wasn't real crowded since it was early in the season . If you get there early (by 9 or so) and wait in the Season Passholder line you'll at least be a little ahead of the game. You might want to decide what you really want to ride first, SUF or Bull and then go to the approriate side of the park to wait at the barrier. I would expect that since we're past Memorial day and lots of schools are out that it will be more crowded than I encountered in my earlier visits. There were quite a few school groups on my last visit a couple weeks ago but they didn't clog things up too much. I would ride the heavier demand stuff such as Bull, Viper, SUF, Batman, etc. as much as you can early. As things get busier you'll find a little less of a wait for American Eagle, Iron Wolf, etc. . No one can ever predict what's going to happen with crowds on a given day except the park usually has some idea based on group pre-sales what's going to happen. Occasionally, I've struck up a conversation with an employee and they'll comment that there XXXX number of pre-sales today.
Dr Freeze Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 Does SFGam have any Fast Pass, Fast Lane, or Lo-Que type stuff?
diggerg56 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 They do have FastLane but it is an upcharge item. You pay $15 for a card that gives you four rides. It's only good on certain rides that they list. The Fastlane Sales Center is in Hometown Square on the right side of the Grand Music Hall. I guess if the lines get long and you want to gurantee a ride it's an OK deal.
pvcoasterguy Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 While you've already gone, I'll still post my way, and hopefully someone will read this and use it. Arrive park at 9:30. Superman: Ultimate Flight -> Ragin' Cajun -> Batman: The Ride -> V2: Vertical Velocity -> Iron Wolf -> Deja Vu -> Demon -> Viper -> Raging Bull -> Whizzer -> American Eagle This way you save the three highest capacity coasters for last, when they're needed for a short line.
benzo41190 Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 when I go on a Sunday, I usually RUN to Viper first. This was I can get like 2-5 or even 10 re-rides on Viper without leaving the sation. When I go during the week I run the Ragin Cajun first. I NEVER ride S: UF until 9:59 PM so I get the last ride of the night. BTW, That ride is only fun at night. I quit my SFGAm job so I havent been there for a couple of weeks, I really havent had the courage to walk back in that park
DejaVu The Ride Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 For those who are planning on going to the park, here is a tip. Run to DejaVu first. They have been VERY good and opening it with the park and it is guaranteed to have a long line on a busy day. IMO Superman is not worth running to first. It has gotten rough and the ride just isn't as great as it used to be. My usual plan of attack. JezaVu-Viper-Raging Bull-Giant Drop-Eagle-Wolf-V2(V2 will probably make you wait a little bit) You can usually have those done by 11-11:30.(If you are there at opening.) You can hit flats during peak hours. Cajun is always going to have a wait(except at opening) so I advise that you wait til early evening to maybe wait a half hour. You can jump in Superman's line right before closing. Batman and Demon are walk-ons the last hour of the day. The park is VERY easy to conquer in 1 day. If you want to do the waterpark and theme park in one day, follow the usual plan of attack and head to HH at 10:50 or so.(Stay for a couple hours and continue your loop around the park.) I'd reccomend getting to HH at it's opening time(11am) because for the past few days, the park has been hitting capacity and the wait to get in HH has been rather long. 2 days at the parks would be more than enough, and would provide for a more peaceful visit. I know the original poster has already visited, but this info is for anyone else who plans to visit. If you have any more specific questions, just ask here or pm me!
