KKAddict127 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I might've heard wrong, but I believe Neil Patrick Harris mentioned TPR during his opening speech at the Tony's last night. I was talking with my mom at the time, so I don't remember the context. I can't find any transcripts online, but if someone recorded it, you could check back to the beginning and see what he said. I'm not sure, and don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I heard "Theme Park Review" in there.
spaceace12 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 The phrase theme park review was mentioned. He said something like he has always been amazed by a magic show, regional rep or theme park review. I don't know how to get the video off the equipment here at work, but I think it was more a mention of the act of reviewing theme parks, not this site. I will get exact text tonight when I have more time to transcribe it.
Masked_Maverick Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 ^ But still you google Theme Park Review and this site is on the first page.
Nrthwnd Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 He said "a" theme park revue.....i.e. show? In regards to (ahem) Live Theater? I'll check my tape, heh heh... (checks tape) Yeah, much as we'd all like to think that's what he said.... (EDIT: And YAYAYAYAYAY for 'Spring Awakening' and David Hyde Pierce!)
Wes Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Kumar: So, I gotta ask you Neil, did you ever get it on with Wanda off the set? Neil Patrick Harris: Dude, I humped every piece of ass ever on that show.
coasterbadboy Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 he has always been amazed by a magic show, regional rep or theme park review It's revue. (Revue: 1. a form of theatrical entertainment in which recent events, popular fads, etc., are parodied. 2. any entertainment featuring skits, dances, and songs. )
pianojohn Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Revue. Just like the kind of stuff I have been doing for the last 20 years. Sidebar: I saw all the best musical nominees, and although Spring Awakening was a ground breaking show, overall I was not that impressed with it. My money was on Grey Gardens, a much more satisfying theatrical experience. And while Curtains was fun, I was as shocked as everyone else that David Hyde Pierce won best actor. BIG shock....though he did carry the show pretty much. OK....back to coasters!!

I got the Grey Gardens soundtrack not long after seeing the documentary and completely fell in love with the entire play. It's incredibly moving and tragic, but it has a wonderful lighthearted flare. I'm so glad that at least Christine Ebersol (no competition - period) and Mary Louise Wilson won. Spring Awakening's music was very disappointing. I don't really care if it's a "revolutionary" idea. If I want to hear pop music, I'll turn on the radio. Its winning of Best Musical was a blow, but I think it's totally unacceptable that it beat Grey Gardens for Best Score. ---- I noticed this, too (the topic). I thought I had misheard, but apparently not.
Nrthwnd Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Also, please note... TPR Mentioned During Tony's Last Night? This does not refer to The Sopranos series' closure episode, LOL! I think the Thread Title should drop that... ' ... yes? No?
