BiCoastal Kid Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I made this quick little rocket last night after commenting that Rita would be better with a flip. Well, the second hill should have had airtime, but doesnt. I wasn't invested enough in this track to fix it by the time I'd AHG'd it either, but you can just imagine there's air if you'd like. Really though, I wanted it to take Rita's basic layout, and make a bit more Maverick-esque focusing more on intense positive forces and quick transitions. I think it did that well, at least. Anyway, yes, about 3 hours total. That being said, there may be some minor pumps & bumps but overall it's pretty smooth. Enjoy. Quick Rocket.nltrack Have fun with it. Doesn't it look nice?
coasterlover420 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Very nice! The concept is great... The only thing, though, is that when Rocket coasters launch from the station, the station is sloped with the launch track as well. That's the only little thing that bugged me. And the fact that you used lims (I'm assuming you mean a hydraulic coaster when you say rocket coaster), and 3ds or just a lift would have been better.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 Well until hydraulic launches are actually available in NoLimits I don't see what difference it makes. Acceleration is acceleration, what type it is shouldn't be an issue.
coasterlover420 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 That doesn't mean you shouldn't make it as realistic as possible, and that doesn't mean I didn't like it...but it's your coaster, so whatever...
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 I made the thing in 3 hours as a boredom thing off of a comment. If I was really worried about realism I would have spent more time on it.

For three hours this is very pro That doesn't mean you shouldn't make it as realistic as possible, and that doesn't mean I didn't like it...but it's your coaster, so whatever... you should see the other ones he has done
kennywood!007 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Loved it, very nice, short, but thrilling, layout. Great work, I enjoyed riding.
niiicolaaah Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 That looks awesome! I can't open the download cause I don't have the right program. It kind of reminds me of Kanonen. Good work! More pictures?
Ed Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I know this is a quick one and everything, but the main thing that struck me was the sloped brakes... If they were magnetic you need to set them to hit straight away instead of leaving them to the end to start. And the unload/load time is Very quick But still.... How on earth do you do all those supports in 3 hours? It takes me about 5 minutes just to do one!
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Not a half bad coaster but it seemed a little too fast for my liking. ^^And it is a rarity to see you in the nerd forum.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 ^Yeah, that turn definitely it. I just wanted those there for the speed effect of flying by those supports. The rest of that ride isn't as heavily supported. Not a half bad coaster but it seemed a little too fast for my liking. Yeah, if I were making this seriously, I would have had it slower, but tightened the turns a bit to keep the intensity. What I slapped together I just upped the launch a bit to make it more intense, but youa re right, it is a bit quick. I know this is a quick one and everything, but the main thing that struck me was the sloped brakes... How on earth do you do all those supports in 3 hours? It takes me about 5 minutes just to do one! Yeah, I should have had them set to start earlier, huh? Again that's one of those details I'd have corrected on a serious project. And the supports, well, after you work in NL for so long it becomes really easy to things faster. haha I'll have some extra pictures up soon for those who can't see it in the program.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 Here we go. Thanks for all the comments everyone. I may make some more "quickies" and just put them in this thread... and make this thread a quick ride thread, haha. One last view of the main side, from a different angle. Here's the turn from the initial brake to the final brake. Theres a small pop of air into the last part. it goes down so far because I think it'd be cool to have the queue go over it so people could watch the trains haul into the brakes. and hear the chee This was suppose to have floater air, but instead only goes down to about .2? Atleast it lets you move around a bit. General view of the other side. See? Not so support heavy here. This actually fails tunnel test, a bit of that track pokes in, oh welllllllllll This is entering the first turn with some nice fly by actionzzzz. Here's the crazy turn into the brakes.

Steffen_Dk Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Great coaster. It was fast and smooth, and that turn into the brakes was awesome!!
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 This was suppose to have floater air, but instead only goes down to about .2? Atleast it lets you move around a bit. It only went down to 0.2 on your sim? On mine it went down to 0.0 which I consider floater air. And I know we both run 1.6... ^^And it is a rarity to see you in the nerd forum. Speak for yourself buddy. lol. I basically am I 'm a huge nerd.
Ed Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 If you wanted the hill to have airtime lower the entrance/exit and raise the bit i nthe middle to make it more hill shaped. At the moment it's more like an s-bend.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 If you wanted the hill to have airtime lower the entrance/exit and raise the bit i nthe middle to make it more hill shaped. At the moment it's more like an s-bend. Oh it would have been easy enough, I just didn't pay attention until after I ahg'd it and was like "eh, it goes .2, good enough." It gowes to 0.0 allegedly for VFB, so I'll take his word for it instead, haha.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 Work in Progress. Track was made today, supports should be done by tonight or tomorrow morning. Well isn't that something?
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Do I smell a little idea theft? lol J/K But it looks nice.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 Do I smell a little idea theft? lol J/K But it looks nice. Yeah, maybe you should turn yourself in. I'm pretty sure mine's way different and more intense, anyway.

If anything you guys stole your ideas from CP .
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 Yeah, making this makes you realize why that trim is needed after the launch. I chose to go without it, and my second half is HUGE.
