Lakeside Park Adds Two New Rides For 2007

This year, Lakeside Amusement Park is proud to announce its first new rides since 1990 as we evolve towards our 100th anniversary in 2008! ‘Zoom!’, a 140-ft drop tower, and ‘Drum Roll’, a teacup-based ride for tweens.

 

“Zoom!” is being specially engineered for Lakeside by Larson International due to its unique location at the park’s highest elevation point. Riders will have vistas in all 4 directions from DIA to the east and the Rocky Mountain Front Range on the west as they freefall 10 stories to the loading platform.

 

Tweens will spin themselves silly on “Drum Roll” with the interactive customer spin disc as they revolve endlessly between the Ferris Wheel and Heart Flip rides.

 

Both rides should be ready for guests early summer 2007.

Wow, that's the same image Bell's used to advertise their Larson tower. I've heard they rival any other lower-end towers out there; only Intamin can do better. There's just something about the way they release, or maybe the cars are just really heavy and fall faster, but in any case, they give extreme air-time.

This is great news, and I didn't know that it has been 17 years since Lakeside added anything. I really like Lakeside, and hopefully, the owners can put these new rides into the 99 year old park setting.

Haven't been on one of those Larson drop towers yet. Are they any good? Anywho, it looks like a great addition to this park, I've been meaning to get out there.

I have driven by Lakeside on my way to ski resorts in the mountains twice. Too bad it was in February. I really want to go ride the Cyclone, and I have heard so much about the lights. Hopefully these are great additions to the park.
