School textbook roller coaster references

I also remember a science book I had in the 8th grade had a whole article on the Wild Thing at Valley Fair, and it's designer.

 

I had that book, it also talked about how the Santa Monica West Coaster is considered his greatest work.

 

Also, my Algebra book had a problem about Son of Beast where we had to calculate how much momentum it needs to go through its loop. But at the beginning of the problem it went on how it is the GREATEST ROLLER COASTER EVER!!!!!!!!.

My text books with roller coasters I remember:

5th Grade Math had Boomerang at Knotts

7th Grade Reading book had Shuttle Loop (Greased Lighting I think)

8th Grade Science Book Wild Thing and Desperado.

It's funny to see rollers coasters on school books! In France there's no chance to see it on a school book!

That's what I like in the USA: roller coasters are in you culture (that's what I think maybe I'm wrong) whereas in France I wonder if French people knows what's roller coaster! (they only know Space Mountain, Indiana Jones and the famous Boomerang!)
