gnewton34 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. I just got this email today. Dear American Citizen, Do you know the Ohio Senators have passed Senate Bill 16 which puts a curfew on Adults?! Now the bill will be voted in the Ohio House and if this bill succeeds, new regulations will be set into place on all ohio strip clubs and adult entertainment clubs. The new regulations will affect all nude and seminude, gay and straight adult clubs. Senate Bill 16 Highlights: - No Adult oriented business will remain open between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. on any day... - Any nude employee shall remain at least six feet from all customers at all times... - No employee, while nude or seminude, knowingly shall touch any customer or the clothing of any customer... In other words, male and female dancers will not be able to accept tips from patrons, because you will have to stay atleast 6 feet away from the dancer! So please take the time to sign the petition to stop this bill. A 12 am curfew for businesses geared toward adults is ridiculous. I know I would avoid Ohio like the plague if that bill actually passes. Lots of people from Kentucky actually go to Cincinnati because there is a bit more of nightlife than here. Do they not realize how much that would hurt business in the bigger cities? How could the senate pass a bill like that, how stupid are they? I'm not saying that I go to strip clubs or anything like that but I know it's an enjoyment for many other people. http://www.stopthesenate.com/sb16.php If you live in Ohio, here is a link to the petition to sign against this. http://www.stopthehouse.com/contact/oh/house
BiCoastal Kid Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Make little paper airplanes out of your dollaz and fly them to the strippers.
snuggles Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 They want you to stay 6 feet away so you can't get any STD's
ECZenith Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Oh God... what a bunch of conservative prudes...
speedracer Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 ^ Seriously! This is what happens when you mix conservative religious fanatics with politics, they want everything rolled back to 1940's values, could care less that it's 2007 and about 2 concenting adults making their own decisions on what they feel is acceptable. I just don't understand how putting a buck in a g-string at 12:01 affects them, except for the fact that they consider adult entertainment immoral, and want everyone else to have to bow down to their beliefs and values, which aren't the same as everyone elses.
BarryH Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Silliest bill ever! Tampa actually has a 6 foot rule at their strip clubs. No one follows it anyway. How do I know? I, um, heard about it from a, um, friend...yep, that's it!
Sir Clinksalot Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I just find it hilarious that given all the problems in this country our lawmakers are choosing to deal with this. I mean, I'm not in to Strip Clubs, never have even been to one, but that doesn't mean I have anything against them.
BarryH Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 ^These's two reasons why we're seeing this, I believe: 1.) Elections are coming up 2.) Adult establishments are easy targets Heck, who cares if our kids in schools don't have enough supplies or proper materials. Who cares if we don't have good medical care. Let's go after the naked women dancing for men! If we don't, it's the end of the world as we know it!
FlyingScooter Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 As Chrissie Hynde said in her wisdom: Hey-hoooo way to go O-Hi-ooooooooo. I wonder how the Crazy Horse locations in ohio will side-step this one?
CoastersNSich Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Wow. First, people can't smoke in Ohio bars and clubs. Now our legislators think the state's top priority is how far we can get to strippers. I guess in '08 and '10 we'll replace some of the far right with the far left after this. Suuurrre, they could take a stab at making Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and other big cities safer. They could develop a plan to better manage growth and make the cities viable again. Hell, fix up the schools we have and put some good teachers and students in them. But NOOOO, smoking and strip clubs are sooo much more important.
