CdnbMatt Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Hey Everyone, I am flying into Los Angeles on the 23rd of this month. I am currently in the process of booking a rental car. I came across Deluxe rent a car operating out of LAX. I have never heard of this company before, but they seem of offer good rates for good cars. Does anyone have any experience with this company? I've been burned by rental companies before and it is kind of a sensitive spot with me. Any feedback would help. Thanks - Matt
Erik Johnson Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 We used Dollar when we rented a car at LAX. It was easy and they did not try to rip us off or push us into more options for the car. I recommend them.
SharkTums Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I would stick to the major brands when it comes to car rental, especially at LAX. There are so many dodgy places on Century Blvd, I wouldn't do it.
Wes Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I know this guy named Swifty La Rue, he can hook you up with a Superstar Limo and drive you through LA to see Drew Carey and Jackie Chan.
Meteornotes Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 If you have a late evening arriving flight, do not use Enterprise. Their office closes at 10 PM, which is insane for an airport like LAX with many flights arriving late. The company line on this is "we can't get people to stay until midnight". Um, yeah, way to manage people... dt
CdnbMatt Posted April 7, 2007 Author Posted April 7, 2007 Thanks a lot guys....and gal. I've actually reserved a car at both Deluxe and Enterprise, the latter being a bit more expensive. If the first one seems too sketchy, then I'll head over to enterprise....oh and it's an 11:30am arrival, so it should be open, thanks for the tip.
Token Yankee Guy Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I've actually used Deluxe Rent-A-Car when I was down there in California. I found them to be very affordable, great service, and their line of cars were in great condition. They are a cheap alternative compared to the name brand competition. Plus they do offer free shuttle service to/from the airport and they're open 24/7. Which worked great since I had to drop my car off at 4:30am in the morning when I flew home.
