2008 Presidential Election

Recommended Posts

I'm no fan of the right wing, but I consider myself more of a centrist than a liberal, since I sometimes find myself at odds with a few of the ultra liberals here in my area. I think you need somebody who can take both sides of an issue into consideration.

I feel nothing for Hillary...no excitement, no love for her, nothing. I just don't see her as the type of woman who could be elected president. Obama's nice, he's well-spoken, and fairly charismatic, but he needs a little more experience. Edwards has a decent shot, because he's a Southerner, and Southerners always seem to have a slight edge these days when running for president. Just look at both the Bush's and Clinton. Then again, he ran with Kerry in 04, and lost...But that had to do more with Kerry just being a bland, polarizing, and outright wrong candidate, who got lucky because Dean shot himself in the foot after Iowa.

As the Republicans, again, I don't see Giuliani being their candidate, because of his stance on abortion, and that it's very difficult for a Northerner to become president these days. I'm saying McCain all the way on this side.

Nah. All you have to do is win in the battleground states, two of which (OH & PA) are in the North. Had Kerry picked up Ohio, he would be president right now. Besides, GWB is a yankee- Connecticut born and educated at Yale & Harvard. Sure he picked up the Texas accent, but he was known as a "yankee carpetbagger" in his early political career in TX.

I'm actually kinda afraid of what will happen, if the next President of United States doesn't want the troups in Iraq. I'm just afraid, if the really can make it on their own.

My country, Denmark, will be taking out their troups from Iraq at August. Who's next?

Well, I definetely do not want Hilary to win, seeing as she tried to turn our government into a socialist gov't back when her husband (who was the worst president in the world along with Jimmy Carter) was in office. I either want Guliani or McCain to win the race.

I am very uncomfortable when I talk about politics because I am a strong opinonated republican and I usually get myself into fights on the topic with my fellow peers. But honestly-Mrs. Clinton will NOT be better than Mr. Clinton.

Women are good business people, but I don't think that a woman is best for the White house right now, because women are the lowest form of human in the muslim world, and if she gets into office, we will be more prone to terroist attacks like 9-11.

^ That's true...but still, Bush adopted the South as his home, including the accent, and that's what gave him his edge against the "Massachusetts Liberal" in 2004.

I dunno. I think the Kerry campaign was botched. He didn't really have a consistent theme/message/vision. He appeared to be a moving target. Even with all their mistakes, it was a pretty close election. He could have won. Had he been a governor instead of a senator, he may have won. That senate voting record is so easy to use against a presidential candidate.

I may be biased, but I really try to be open minded, and take a step back and look at the big picture

And after looking over what the contenders have to offer, I don't think anyone here can deny that Gov. Bill Richardson from New Mexico is easily the best qaulified to handle our diplomatic problems right now

As for the war being a huge issue, it obviously is, but I Implore you all to look at other issues besides the war, I still hear people say the economy is bad, it is not, besides the war the bush administration has actually done a decent job with regards to the rest of govermental business

Just look at Gov Richardsons achievments in diplomacy, and I think you will see what I mean
