coasterdude5
Update Year 9 - Construction Report There's a ton of construction going on at the park! This road will surround the Hershey Hawaii resort someday Apparently the train is being re-routed for the new attraction(s). Where will it go? Ah, right there. Construction area overview They can't do a huge project like this without a construction wall. Now for some general park photos that I took. Turbulence is definitely one of the best at the park. Never seen this shot before. I always forget Hurtle de Zhambi even exists. More soon. New addition is announced any day now.
coastercrazed49
You should add a wood coaster, because that is the only thing your park lacks. But what ever you do to that spot it sure is to be awesome!

coasterdude5
Update Year 10 Announcement/Construction HERSHEY HAWAII - Hershey's Hawaiian Escape opens this year with a variety of new attractions in the whole family! Guests will have the opportunity to experience a Polynesian circus-type show in the new Theater Zhambi. After watching the show, park goers can enjoy a meal at the new Zhambi Cafe with an exclusive view of Hurtle de Zhambi, which ties in the new Zhambi Landing area. The whole family will also have the chance to rough the conditions on the new Volcano Derby car ride, which is also added within the Zhambi Landing area. Returning this year to the Great Outdoors section is the classic Phoenix ride that opened with the park 10 years ago. Year 10 is all about the family at Hershey's Hawaiian Escape. Can you see anything from here? The path has been laid. This is now the largest building at the park. Guests will enter here, I'm guessing. It fits in nicely with the area around it. The park needed a true indoor attraction. The return of Phoenix was also tied into this year's additions. In other park news, Tigre finally got an entrance sign. There is a break run. I heard a uhhh... "whisper" that this might be the next ride to go. This will make alot of people angry, including me. More soon.

coasterdude5
Update Year 10 The new section is a hit among the famillies. Here's the new Zhambi Cafe. It provides a great shot of Hurtle de Zhambi Volcano Derby is running a bit behind schedule But the track is in place so that's a good sign. Overview of the area. As I was leaving the park, I got this information given to me "ahead of time". ANNOUNCEMENT Mine Mountain will be closing at the end of the Year 10 season, to make way for a new attraction. The ride will give its last ride on November 1st, Year 10. Please make a special effort to get out to the park to ride this classic once more. It took my breath away - I can't believe it, the Mine Mountain is actually closing. It's been a centerpiece for the park for so long now. This is what Hershey is doing to any uniqueness the park had. coasterdude5
Update November 1st, Year 10 The last day that Mine Mountain operates. Mine Mountain was the first coaster I rode at the park on opening day (it had the shortest line) Opening Day, Year 1 I had the privilege of riding on the last train. The ride provided some forces (for a vekoma) The view is alot different from 10 years ago. The ride was pretty long, actually. Overview You'll be missed, Mine Mountain. I can hear the chain-saws. Mine Mountain Year 1 - Year 10 Here's the progress so far on Year 11, I don't know if the new ride will be for Year 11 or more likely Year 12. More soon... I would have stood infront of the buldozer to avoid its destruction I think you should put a drop coaster in its place. ~Matthew

coasterdude5
Update Year 12 Speculation Alright, I've heard alot of stuff about what might be going in for Year 12, (it's confirmed the "big" attraction won't come in Year 11) Here's the scenarios that I've heard: (a) - The area will be turned into a coninuation of Bay Lake, a small area will be added around it - no new attractions (b) - Some hybrid dive machine-like ride will become the first of its kind © - the mountain will be reused for a new family off-road dark ride attraction (d) - a new wooden coaster will be added as the centerpiece for a continuation of the boardwalk (e) - a small waterpark will be added as the sister area to Hersheypark's Boardwalk. Personally, I'm betting either © or (e) or maybe even (d). What do you think? Here's the schedule I've heard of future updates: April 15th, 2007 - - Year 11 Announcement April 17th, 2007 - - Year 11 Update April 19th, 2007 - - Year 12 Announcement

coastercrazed49
I think you should add a wooden coaster. I dont know but I kind of would like to see a traditional out n back design. But others might disagree.

coasterdude5
Update Year 11 Well, year 11 is here, and nothing new has been announced yet, the park has, though, unleashed a new sleek logo: Looks nice, I've been told to look for it in the park any day now. Since it's been pretty slow lately since the departure of Mine Mountain, I thought I'd pull out some old shots of the park I never got to post. This display used to be right beside the MM entrance, it was removed when MM closed. Dino ride for the kids, From Year 1 Ah, Delusion (aka Waste of Space), it's been too long. It was planned that the park would have all torch lights, when the wind blew half them out on "test-run" night, they were quickly replaced with more generic lights. Anybody know what this is a picture of? Here's a shot of Chocolate Express's old location. More soon.
