fictionalxxfiend Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Going to try and hit Desperado, Speed, and Manhatten Express before we pick up my room mate from the airport. One question... has anyone been been on M.E. since it gotten the new trains? If so, does anyone know if the new trains made a differnet at all in the roughness of the ride? If it hasn't I am not going to even bother.
Wes Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I've heard that they did not make a difference in terms of roughness.
fictionalxxfiend Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 sigh.... i still may try it then... maybe. If my buddy still wants to go it, I'll just take a bottle of asprin with me and hope for the best. Last time I rode I felt like I was in 3rd grade again getting beat up by the school bully.
snuggles Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Have fun on ME Is desperado still pretty kick-ass airtime and fun wise? I mean, its kinda rough, but is it still fun?
trustkill22 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I don't know if your getting on ME because on Screamscape its said it is closed down for repairs so.
GMAN962 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Well, I just recently rode it, it wasn't the worst coaster experience I've ever had. I was forced to get the back seat, and just put the restraints down below your head, on your shoulders. Â It wasn't as bad as people say it is, but I wouldn't say it was even near smooth. Â However, I wouldn't waste 12 dollars to go on if you've already done it. Â Desperado is intense, Speed has head banging, but not much of it. Â Have fun! Â -Mike
fictionalxxfiend Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 well if ME is down, then oh well...lol. Desperado is one on the list as well... not as fun as it was when I first rode it, but I still catch some airtime right before the mid brakes... what I am really looking forward to is Speed... thanks guys... well i'll be heading out in about 30 mins... talk to you all later
Satoshi Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 does the ride sensation of Manhattan Express look like we're going to ride on Vekoma painful things? i've wondered about it since lots of thrill seekers say that ME is the least coaster they've had ever like the painful, the lamest, really kinda boring so on..... Â but i think Togo's should not be taken out of the US.....it's sad.
vjgx Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I've only ridden Manhattan Express with the new trains, and it was pretty rough. I was assigned back seat (lucky me... ), and I came off with a mild headache and dizziness. The seats are uncomfortable and the ride vibrates a bit like most woodies do. It was nowhere near as bad as many people say it is (or Robb's video shows), but it wasn't worth 12 bucks. Â Desperado is great, but very rough. Rougher than Manhattan Express, but the lap bars make up for it. Great ejector airtime and speed, too. Â Speed is pretty good. Mostly smooth with a bit of vibration and the occasional headbanging.
JimmyBo Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 If you go and do Speed I totally recommend walking across the street to the Stratosphere and hit Insanity. I know it's not a coaster but that thing still almost made me crap my pants. Plus, the night time views are awesome over on Stratosphere
larrygator Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 ^I almost "Barryed" my pants on X-Scream atop Stratosphere. I have to try Insanity when I get back to Vegas.
Gnome Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 the ride is ruff do to the utter crappyness of the designs. Not even PTC styled seating could make that ride smooth, though it would help.
fictionalxxfiend Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Just got back two seconds ago! Well something like that at least. Didn't go on M.E. wasn't running...we were going to stop at Stateline but we didn't so I missed out on Desperado...no biggie though. We did manage a ride on Speed. A little rougher going into the high banked turn than I remember, but still fun. Though last time I was there I didn't feel like I paid too much because I got two rides for the price one. Not this time...anyways yeah it was a fun quickie, then we picked up my room mate and headed back home(only live and hour or so from Las Vegas).
Reggie_Ray Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 ^Wasn't running? We were open all night, unless you came after closing. The premier trains provided a really smooth ride when we first got them, before the public was allowed to ride. After that short lived couple of days, it's still the same old rough ride. The ride was clsoed all week due to repairs and I rode it again tonight. Unfortunately, I feel the ride is as rough as it's ever been. It just seems to be getting worse...
fictionalxxfiend Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 more like we didnt see a train fly by as we drove down the strip and i said "oh guess it's closed" i wasn't really feeling Manhatten Express tonight...
