GMAN962 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Get Gears of War, get a wireless network adapter if you plan on using XBOX Live, or have a computer with the right media center software. I personally like the Wii more, but the XBOX 360 is still a pretty good choice. Personally, I like the Wii most, followed by XBOX 360, then PS3. ~Mike
Masked_Maverick Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 GOW, if you like wrestling Smackdwon VS Raw 2007, Prey, Oblivion if you are an RPG fan
kennywood!007 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I've played both. And the Ps3 was really laggy. The 360 ran really smooth and had as good graphics as the Ps3. 360 is the better deal, great shooter games, and sports games. Halo 3 will deffinately be a great game, and I can only imagine what the graphics will look like. I found my 360 in the downstairs closet today. I can't wait to play it Christmas day!

Can you use any wireless adapter? Or do I need to get the over priced Microsoft branded one? I've got a USB adapter for my PC, which I can move easily from unit to unit if it'll work. I am impressed with the amount of heat this thing produces.
Imhotep Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I would recommend GoW, even if you are not into shooters. I personally am not huge on the shooter type games, however the graphics are amazing, and its got a very involved story IMO. It will suck you in and make you a fan. Another game I would highly recommend, especially if you like scarier games, would be Condemned: Criminal Origins. You would probably do fine renting this title because its relatively short, but its an awesome melee based first person game. I am addicted to the new Tony Hawk Project 8 game, if you are a big fan of the THPS series its a must buy. I got the Nyko Intercooler and the HD-DVD drive as far as accessories go.

As far as I know, you're gonna need a Microsoft one....sorry, I know how it's expensive, and I don't blame you for trying to use a different one. You could always try eBay! Congrats on the 360! ~Mike
Imhotep Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 My brother in law uses a Linksys Wireless gaming adapter to get online rather than the proprietary Microsoft adapter. As far as standard wireless adapters go, I will see if I can borrow one from work to try out. If it works Ill let you know.
mcjaco Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Thanks guys. I was in line with NCAA Football 07 on Tuesday, when the guy behind me had GoW. I totally forgot about that game, and I didn't want to lose my spot in line. Next trip, I guess. I'm going to try my Dell wireless adapter tonight and see what happens. I'll let you know as well.
ChrisZer0 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Im a 360 owner, been one since last summer...Mainly plaing GoW and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance right now.
weeow Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I got one for Christmas and it's great! I love playing Call of Duty 3 online!
darklingscribe Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I haven't been playing much of my 360 since Oblivion. I've been too focused on the Wii and Zelda. Anyway, does anyone know if there will ever be a HDMI output for the 360? So far Microsoft hasn't released any news about it even thought many 360 owners asked for true HD output options (only 1080i for the 360). The rumor that is going around is that Microsoft is planning to release a souped up Xbox 360 with the HD DVD drive built in and that the souped up 360 will be the only 360 system that will offer HDMI output. Thats all I could find out on Google.[/i]
ChrisZer0 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Darkling, never trust what you read on the internets I have a feeling they'll come out with a HDMI adapter sometime in 2007.
weeow Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Does anybody know of a Wireless Internet Adapter for the XBOX 360 besides the one made by Microsoft?
Imhotep Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Any of the router manufacturers (DLink, Netgear, Linksys, etc) make them, and they all range in price depending on what you get. So far, the cheapest wireless G gaming adapter Ive seen is the D-Link wireless gaming adapter, which you can pick up at Walmart for $65 bucks. Ive found a thread yesterday that claims a wireless USB laptop dongle -which you can usually buy for around $20- will work fine. Im tempted to go buy one to test. If it does work, that would be great. Not only is it cheap, but its powered by USB, which means I wont have to use up another outlet on my power strip just to power my wireless gaming device.
