Erik Johnson Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 There was a serious fire at Orlando's/Kissimmee's Gatorland this morning. I looks like most of the damage occured in the front section of the park where the gift shop is located. If I rememeber correctly it is also where the iconic gator doorway is located as well... http://www.wesh.com/news/10249357/detail.html?treets=orl&tml=orl_break&ts=T&tmi=orl_break_1_05490111062006 edit Awww....The Gator-mouthway entrance was engulfed with flames...
verticalzero Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 It's sad news to have a fire at any park esp with animals. The main thing is no "Woodies" or Dark Rides were effected.
DerekRx Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 mmmm, smoked and charred gator, tastes like chicken! Sad that another classic Florida attraction is now hurting a little bit more. I used to drive by Gatorland on my way to work every day, sure beat the traffic on I-4!
SharkTums Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yeah, they just confirmed that some animals did die. Pretty sad. Hopefully it was reptiles and not the stockpile of rodents that they eat! There's a pretty crazy picture of the giant gators mouth with flames all around it!
arrowfanman Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 This sucks pretty badly. I remember that gator-entrance more than any of the mulit-thousand dollar WDW-expirences from my 1994 Florida trip. Best of luck in their recovery efforts. -Jahan
