bigdaniel Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Four friends and I went on a little weekend trip to visit Phantasialand and Efteling and to celebrate Tim's 18th birthday. I will show you some Efteling photos beacuse I already posted Phantasialand photos (not of this weekend) yesterday. Before we went to the park, we ate some self-baked coastercake: But then we had to go to the park to see some boobs at the great forest of fairy tales... which also had some other great figures, buildings and incomprehensible (dutch language) stories: There were also some animals at the park: A peacock... the pink and blue pigeons... seagulls... and a big bird whith a rollercoaster in his stomach... 'Vogel Rok' is the name of this Vekoma rollercoaster. It's a short track, but very intense and funny. Next to Vogel Rok, there is the 'Carnaval Festival'. During the journey through different countries of the world, you get crazy of the music which is constantly the same. You can compare it with 'It's a smal world'. Here is one of the characters: To get an overall view over the very wooded park, we took a ride with the 'Pagode': On top, we could see some interesting stuff for us: Before we ride the coasters, we made a short excursion to the big pirate boat. As we arrived there, we could see again some boob action: The pirate boat was not better than the little ones, there are only more people who made the ride funnier. So we went to the rollercoasters quickly. The first one was 'Python', an old Vekoma corkscrew with the same layout as Magic Mountain from Gardaland. This copy got new trains last year, which are built by Kumbak. We heard a lot of bad opinions about this trains, but it wasn't as bad as we thought. We took a look at the new still closed watercoaster,... rode the little, funny 'Pegasus',... got wet on the rafting boats... (I have only this photo from the queue) and rode the Intamin bobsled, which is in a forest so I couldn't take a photo. The best rides of the day are coming now, the 'Droomvlucht' and the 'Fata Morgana'. Both are themed rides with a huge amount of little details. They are the best themed darkrides I've ever been on. My mouth was open all the time because I never expected this. Very very exciting! Entrance of Droomvlucht It was a great day at a park which will see me next year at any rate. Simon made a great video of this day. You can download it here: Download the Efteling video ©parkbilder.de Want some more photos? Visit us at www.parkbilder.de
RCfanatic Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Nice pics! I was going to go to Efteling this year but when the new coaster was posponed to 2007 i decided to wait till next year. Also, is parkbilder.de a new site? Suddenly i start hearing "go to parkbilder for more" all the time. Anyways, it looks like a good site so good luck with it! PS: Nice cake!
bigdaniel Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 Thanks! The site is not new. It exists since 2003, but in those days it didn't look very good. The new gallery layout is since april 2006, but the site wasn't still visited much. Some friends said, that I should make a little bit publicity, beacuse the site is so great. I hope it's not too much publicity so that no one is angry about it. Daniel
Nosferatu Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Very nice pics. Seems like the park has changed quite a bit since I was there in 1998. The EGF pic from your "best of site" is now my wallpaper
ECZenith Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Never heard of this place but the details look great! Thanks for posting.
Hattuchili Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Now I am sure, I have seen your pictures before at Freizeitparkweb! Anyway, these pictures are also nice! Thanks for posting! --Sören
thomas2 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Good TR I do have one question: is Pegasus a fun coaster? It seems to small to be a really out-of-control woodie.
bigdaniel Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 It's not an out-of-control woodie, but nevertheless it's a funny coaster. It has very little speed but it rattles and shakes a lot and there is also a little bit of airtime. Because of this, Tim and I laughed all the time as we rode it and think it's a funny, little coaster. Not an awesome one, but a good one. Daniel
thomas2 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 ^Thought it would be like that Thanks for the reply!
