RRollergod Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I have noticed the sudden rise of popularity in model coasters. So I have decided to show you what I have worked on for months. The following pictures she what I did in a 3 week period. After that I took a long brake and I will soon work on it again. (Trust me this work gets boring.) The coasters name is Thunderbird. I have been working on it for so long I never thought a coaster would be built in real life with the same name. As you can tell it is a woodie. Once I finished the lift it will stand a proud 2' tall, 8' long and a 1' 3" wide. So this is very big. It is "G" gauge and uses lego train tucks for the cars. I am not to sure if I will stay with that idea as I may take my coaster dynamics and use them to make an "O" gauge "California Screaming" type ride. So enjoy the pictures! *~RRollergod~* P.S. There really isn't that much hot glue laying on it anymore. I have cleaned it up since then.
VegasCoaster Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Looks cool. I amagine you are adding all the crossbracing in the bents as you go? Have fun trying to get a lego car to stay on, while it will be possible it might be a bit challenging.
jimbobcoaster Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Wow, thats pretty cool! I was wondering, is it going to be fully operational, or is it just a still model? Either way, its awesome! I like it
Ccron10 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Looks like you're constructing the coaster like the real ones are. Keep up the good work.
RRollergod Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 Thanks for the comments guys, I was going to post pics of my 6th grade project. For I was the first ever in the history of my school to use an actual track system to recreate a shuttle loop!
SLUSHIE Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Woot for hot glue! That stuff gets all over the place.
RRollergod Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 Who thinks I should continue? If so I think I will start work tomorrow.
Golfie Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I'm interested to see how you go about laying down the track pieces. PLEASE do go on!
Primogen18 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 yeah that does look pretty cool and im curious as well.
