jamesdillaman Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Wow, congratulations, that's quite a feat.
pvcoasterguy Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Wow... seems like you had a crazy, yet fun, time! Nice and interesting TR!
vjgx Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Nice TR and great job! I was there on Saturday too!
Luxo Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Whew, that was an exciting Photo TR, looks like you guys got it to a science. - Lu"I wanna go to Disneyland now!"xo
Electerik Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Basically the idea is to see if you can ride all of the rides in Disneyland in one day. Silly question: Who had the best time? Or was it not really a "winners and losers" type of thing?
onewheeled999 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Greg, what prize did you get? BTW, awesome TR! How was the new Pirates?
Sir Clinksalot Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 Only the top 3 teams got prizes ... we came in 4th. But seriously, the experience of the day was prize enough. I know that sounds corny and cliche', but it's true. It was an awesome experience and we would do it again in a heartbeat. We did get our WDW tickets at the Dessert party, so that's prize enough for us.
robbalvey Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Sounds like an interesting event, but..... Was there a point to this other than to ride all the rides in one day and answer some questions? What was the prize? Was there a scavenger hunt? Photo contest, etc? It sounds like this REALLY wants to be something like the "Minnie's Moonlight Madness" we used to do as Disneyland cast members when I worked there (and I think that still goes on today). But I guess since they were obviously limited to what you can do in the park without the park's participation, and without breaking any park boundaries, a "ride and observe" method is about the extent of what can be done. Minnie Moonlight Madness was certainly more of an "Amazing Race" style of contest - group of four, all tied together, get from point A to point B really fast, answer some questions, ride some rides, complete challenges, participate in games at attractions, and race against other people for a fairly decent trophy and some other random prizes. It was also a "closed park" event so you got to do some cool stuff like walk through attractions, etc. I dunno, to me "riding as many rides as you can in a short amount of time and then answering questions to prove you rode them" doesn't sound that compelling to me. I guess it could be fun if you're really into all the Disney rides and trivia, but it just doesn't sound like it's much different from how we would normally spend a day at park, except we can avoid rides we don't like and we don't have to take a test at the end! --Robb "Who rode like 10 rides at SFMM in 2 hours and didn't think he was doing anything that special." Sir Clinksalot Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 After the event was done there was a dessert party for participants at the festival arena. There were prizes given out to the top 3 teams. (we were #4 ) The prizes were pretty good as well. And there was a trophy for the top team. There was also a 2nd event that was more like Mouse Adventure that was more of a scavenger hunt.
