Wes Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I've never thought of putting a Raging Spirts clone in...but that would make sense! It's more budget friendly than building another EMV, especially considering how much Dinosaur and IJA share in common.
maliboomer Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I've never been to disneyland, so I've never ridden the Indiana Jones Adventure, so I'd of course be thrilled to see this one built in WDW as well You can see a video of it by levelmaker99 at VisionsFatastic that is pretty reasonable at (scroll down to videos then the first one) http://www.visionsfantastic.com/visions/dlr/disneyland/adv/ija.html. I know that Dinosaur and IJA have very different theming (and quality), but the track layouts are identical and for all I know I think the EMV's have the same programming. So either build one that has a very different track layout, theme, EMV movement or build something slightly more orginal and maybe even cheaper, as Indy was far from inexpensive.
Red Benny Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 ^Videos don't do that ride justice at all. There's so much going on in the queue, and so many details in the ride you just can't capture. Still, a video is better than nothing Doesn't DisneySeas have an Indy ride? I'm curious how similiar it is to DLR's. If it isn't they could always clone that one. I like the idea of a raging spirts coaster though. Even better, they could possibly mix the technology of Spiderman and a roller coaster. Imagine riding in an out of control mine cart where you feel like you're going to plummet into a river of running lava.
Movieguy Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Hey, thanks for the link. Geez, I didn't know that disneylandsource.com was alive and operating under a different name

The ride layout is identical to the one at Disneyland, but several effects of the ride are different...for example, the Smoke Ring. http://www.themeparkreview.com/japan2004/tds3.htm They also have Raging Spirits (which is a near clone of the Indy ride, a roller coaster), from DLP. It is also very themed, and looks a lot like their Indy building. Elissa "need to go back to Japan!!!" Alvey
blackcurrent Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I think Indie will be the big next project once this years celerbrations settle down a bit. They have plenty of marketing cards up their sleeves at the momement. I think we might here something at the start of next year... I think it will be very cool. I know it might be the same technology as Dinosaur but the themeing etc... would make it seem a very different ride to the average joe public....
coasters 4 me Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 i would quite like to see universal get a rocket coaster, like xcelerator or storm runner. But not like TTD. IOA are good at being original.
maliboomer Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 ^That dosen't really make much sense. It would be hard to theme a rocket coaster and the launch area can't be a little tunnel in a pyramid. Where would it go anyways? Jurrasic Park? Running away from the dinosuars into a top hat?
