PKDFreak Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Looks like to me Kings Dominion will be closing at eight for most of the season!?!?! I really hope not because I really enjoy night rides on Volcano! Does anyone have more info?? http://www.kingsdominion.com/visit/visit_calendar.cfm
SharkTums Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Interesting, did they used to usually stay open till 10pm during summer weekdays? Elissa "oh well, they can save a lot of money on lighting and staff!" Alvey
PKDFreak Posted April 15, 2005 Author Posted April 15, 2005 Yea...they used too! It will save money...mabey there saving for mabey a new coaster?
SharkTums Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 ^We can only hope! Elissa "it will be some sort of prototype that won't work and run limited capacity!" Alvey
PKDFreak Posted April 15, 2005 Author Posted April 15, 2005 Are they still consedering removing Hypersonic? Personally, I like the ride, I think they should keep it!!
Movieguy Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Hm, I wonder why they'd do something like this. If they do remove Hypersonic, chances are it's gonna get sent to either some third world park, or to one of the the throw-away parks here in the states, where it'll rot and rust like crazy, kinda like Batman The Escape at SFAW after it's stints as Shockwave at MM and Gadv
CoasterFanatic Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 That doesn't even look right. Especially when you compare it to: http://www.pki.com/visit/visit_calendar.cfm
RCTfan Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Since when were they considering removing Hypersonic? Pft, I think they'd remove Shockwave before Hypersonic. And no, Shockwave is NOT for sale. I don't know why PKD wouldn't stay open until 10. They used to do it every night! I hope its wrong, I love the night Grizzly Rides!!!
CoasterCrazy Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I'm glad they are going to be open on from 10-10 on June 4th. I have never been to PKD, is it a all day park?
Jordan Shankman Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 The only park I like better then PKD is CP. So yeah, IMO, it's an awesome park.
CoasterEricHP Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I have never been let down by a day at PKD.. it definately ranks up in my top 10 parks. But 8pm closings?? I'll gladly drive the extra hour to go to BGW then. The way Paramount is treating PKD this year (closing early (3pm) on a sunny day and early closings all year) I wouldnt bet on a new coaster anytime soon! Sounds like Paramount is really anxious to drop PKD... Eric "who hopes Six Flags is too poor to purchase anymore parks, welcome to Six Flags Richmond" Geiple
CoasterEricHP Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 ^PKD is closing at 3 pm?:o They closed at 3pm a few weeks ago.. on the same day that PKI closed early due to bad weather. However, the weather in VA that day was 50's and sprinkling.. so they probably closed due to attendence which is a really cheap thing to do. Eric
PKDFreak Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 ^That is truley screwed up....I hope there not thinking about droping PKD....and I REALLY hope Six Flags doesent buy it if they do!! And... The only park I like better then PKD is CP I agree that PKD is a awsome park!!
